The only team in the league that can compete with the Wings from a management perspective in Chicago. Really don't think the coaching change will hurt them at all. Though they may need to move a player of significance to re-stock a bit before it gets too late. Even with Larkin coming up.

I agree with this. The wings have an unbelievable drafting and development system. As far as their management goes from a trade or free agent perspective, they are quite average. I understand that living in Detroit doesn't exactly have a lot of pull, especially since the salary cap where every team can offer what the wings can.

I do like Babs as a coach but I'm not sure yet why the leafs have hired him, with what there doing I thought that blashill would have been the guy that mlse would have gone hard after he seems more in line with what the leafs are trying to do. Mike , seems to me, like the kind of coach you would bring in if you team is right on the verge of doing something special like maybe st Louis or the wild team a along those lines guess both teams will see what happens ..good luck wings fans have always loved the leaf/wing games

I really think toronto did this to prove they could do it. For GM's there is no "best guy hands down"

im not even saying babcock is the best coach hands down, but really most teams feel he is. So because hes the absolute most sought after coach. Toronto needed to get him. They would do the same, and over pay, for the "best GM" money can buy.
