for the love of God, please defeat the Ducks. I'd love nothing more than to see Perry cry a river after yet another failed attempt at a Stanley Cup. and one more thing, I'm hoping that there are ample hawk fans located in southern CA to help invade Honda Center. I'm sure there aren't as many as say Red Wing fans that live here, but hopefully there are decent enough numbers to make a difference for the games in Anaheim. Anyways, Go Hawks. Sincerely, a Kings fan

I'd actually prefer a Ducks win the WCF and then see them beat in the SCF.

I am not a fan of either team but do enjoy watching the ducks sometimes as getz and perry are nice to watch. But I gotta say I cant see them coming out of this on top. They lack too much in defense, goaltending and coaching. Primary things needed for playoff victories. All strong suits for the hawks Whove won the cup a few times recently.

And as much as id like OV and the caps to win tampa is a great team that would make for an entertaining final with the hawks. Holtby had such a bad game last game I just cannot see them winning a cup.

On the other hand tampa has gone game 7 in 2 consecutive rounds. So that 1 is a toss up.

Pre-emptively, here’s why the playoff numbers are highly dubious.

The Blackhawks played the teams with the 3rd and 6th best records in the West—the Ducks played the teams with the 7th and 8th best records.

The Hawks faced two Vezina Trophy finalists. The Ducks faced Ondrej Pavelec and Karri Ramo.

The Hawks were a road team in one of their series, the Ducks were home team in both.

Way too small–and too skewed—a sample.

Dude, you haven't been paying attention long enough. The Chicago bandwagon is even bigger than the King bandwagon. Just last night I was sitting in my pickup locker room after playing when a guy I've known for 15 years mentioned he was a diehard Hawk fan. Dude grew up in VT and has been a Bruins fan as long as I have known him. Everywhere you look, there are lifetime Hawks fans over the past 6 years. I don't think you have to worry about there being some at the games in Anaheim.

Don't forget that the team with the 6th best record also beat the team with the 2nd best record in Round 1.

Hey that's fine. I just want to hear the fact based argument that the Ducks are going to win.

It's not like the Hawks hold ALL the cards. But I have yet to see a cogent, comprehensive, fact-based argument yet for why the Ducks will win or even get it to 7.

precisely. but having pointed out the inherent advantages the ducks have experienced thus far-in regards to having home ice advantage and facing incredibly suspect playoff goaltending- the skewed numbers can only paint a more favorable picture of the ducks chances... and that's a good thing for the Hawks because it means that it's exactly that... skewed based on an easier route through the first 2 rounds and not necessarily indicative of the ducks being a better team overall. This series for me is fairly simple. The Hawks have to use their enormous amount of playoff experience to their advantage. This is the first time the ducks have been out of the 2 round since they last won a cup. Long time ago. The other factor for me is Crawford. He needs to maintain his form from the Minnesota series. if he does that, the Hawks will be just fine. Go Hawks! from a kings fan

>>>In truth, for all their firepower, the Blackhawks, in essence, are a defense-first club.<<<

And that has been on full display the last 5 games. and that defensive 1st game is what the hawks did to the ducks in all 3 of their games....3 of their best games of the year.. I think an shorty beat them 1-0 vs darling.

coaching, the game history, goal tending, defensive play, giveaway and take away, hawk depth, hawk blueline...all say hawks win this series...

stop perry/getzlaf and this team gonna have some real problems getting goals...

my gawd beaucheman is a number 5 dman on this team....good luck with that blue line vs the hawks forwards...

my biggest concern is their asshats (including chief Richard perry) start taking runs and cheap shots at hawk dman....also of note when the ducks are losing perry asshatery rises to the top....hawks can not afford any loss of game time with their dmen

I really can't stand that guy...heres to bicks or shaw taking it to that jag...

"Anaheim got a goal from a defenseman, and two from their third line. Their top line did not score."

And if the Ducks want to match their third line versus the Hawks third line then be my guest. Adding Vermette and dropping Sharp to that line, a player who is one of the Hawks better scorers especially in the postseason, and an emerging TT then suddenly that's a tough line to match up against.

I dont expect that to be too difficult for the star defeNse the hawks have. I cant stand the hawks personally due to personal bias but you can see their strengths and if you understand hockey its very clear the ducks cant win this 1. Especially with fool boudreau behind the bench.

I guess I dont hate the hawks as much with all the team canada members they have had.

Btw dont you just laugh watching queneville press conferences? Always has a death grip on the podium like its gonna fly away.

I don't think most of them believe in that. I tried using facts and stats to prove that they were lying to themselves, just got trolled for "Wasting my day" looking up stats All of five minutes haha

Every year it's the same story. The other team will mash the Hawks, then they themselves get mashed.

The Ducks improve their chances if they get pucks behind the Chicago D, and go to work. If they are trying to line Hawk d-men up for killshots all series, they are in deep trouble, because that will typically be when the puck is already going the other way and they should be getting back.

Bickell and Shaw will hit some people but they will take their shots selectively.

Perry's health is critical for the Ducks.

being a kings fan I'm quite familiar with the ducks. And the one player I despise above all else is Perry. He is unquestionably one of the worst cheap shot artists/idiots in the game. I have a ton of respect for Getzlaf. Dudes an absolute warrior and a fantastic/respectable player. But Perry is easily a top 5 "asshat" in the game. Please, defeat him... and make it rather painful preferably.
