I call BS - if they won't work with the Leafs why would they work with the Canes? That would also mean that Francis is as stupid as the Leafs management has been for the past 30 years, trying to buy players to make a winner.
Didn't work so well for Burkie or Nonis...just can't see it. |

I wouldn't bet money on it, but I wouldn't be too surprised either. The Leafs are going full rebuild and maybe Carolina management is more eager to retool quickly. At the very least I wouldn't be surprised about the Leafs trying to turn the players they are moving out into more first round picks. The more the merrier since the more shots at the board they have the better chance of getting some good players. |

But this line of thinking is rather incorrect. It'd be like saying there's no point in trading for Canucks players, because the franchise has never won anything.

that's right... every player that changes teams is ALWAYS exactly the same as they were before...
i) we have never heard of a player EVER getting a fresh start e.g Rick Nash - nope he didn't benefit from a change of scene at all
ii) Mike Richards and Jeff Carter were exactly the same players after being dealt to Los ANgeles as they were before
now where they maybe true... is players like Cody Hodgson - who was pretty mediocre before being dealt to Buffalo and remains that way - but he was a Canuck.  |
