I'm not worried about Eichel's lack of scoring and lackadaisical (supposedly) play.

It's an 18 year old on a larger surface, something he isn't used to, playing with and against what he will be once he turns pro. Adults. I expect a large adjustment window if he does in fact skip a sophomore year of college in the fall. I wouldn't be surprised to see him struggle mightily, something similar to Joe Thornton his first couple of seasons.

I wouldn't say he has played lackadaisically. He looks lost at times and seems a step behind. I tend to think those issues iron themselves out. As long as people don't expect him to score like McDavid, we will probably all be very happy with Eichel. He seems like he may even be a better playoff style center than McDavid.

As long as he doesn't look out of place skill wise and physically...then I'm happy being his first competition at the pro level against men. I expect his first year to be dedicated to adjusting to the pro game speed and learning what is needed to play 82 games...and still have gas in the tank for playoffs whenever we do qualify.

We all need to be patient with him.

I also see Reinhart playing in Roch until he can better handle the physicality of the pro game. That is the difference...he needs to develop his body to better handle that aspect.

And on a side note Connor McDavid lead his team to victory by scoring 42 points in 15 games. He lead by example and will do the same in the NHL. Buffalo needs to do whatever it takes to get this kid. I for one am not ok with second.

I think the price, even for Buffalo with the 2nd available would be astronomical...and would end up hurting us deep. It isn't like we are a deep team that can plug the holes left, we would then go into a longer rebuild and look like Edmonton does now.
If I'm correct,on the cost, I pass.
Let's see what McDavid does when he joins Team Canada playing against seasoned pros, rather than 16,17,18 year olds still learning the game. Let's see if the gap between McDavid and Eichel is that big.

Is McDavid going to IIHF? Even if he does, he gets to play with the likes of Crosby, Spezza, Seguin, Hall, Duchene, Couturier, Giroux, O'Reilly

Eichel gets - Bonino?

it would cost our entire draft for this year, risto, gringo, foligno and pysyk

a trade like that would set the team back 3 years IMO

Eichel vs McDavid... Murray's new plan = Auston Matthews!!

That kid is closer to McDavid skill-wise than Eichel... He would be Buffalo's Kane to their Toews (Eichel).

What are the lottery rules for next season? Sabres may not be last, but they are not likely to make the playoffs either.

Bills should sign La'el Collins now to a contract that gives them an out if he's found to have any involvement in the murder under investigation. Once he gets cleared, if he does, there will be too many teams attempting to sign him.

He's not going to play with Team Canada. Erie moving on pretty much guaranteed that.

I don't expect the Sabres to be instantaneously a good team next season but I feel that next year Murray will be trying to ice the best possible roster.

Dude, weren't you just going on the other day about Dareus's character issues?

We already signed Incognito. They said want to build a team of bullies, not murderers.

They say he isn't a suspect and he hasn't had contact with her since September. Let things play out before we (the masses) call him a murderer. Everyone deserves their day in court and are innocent until they are found guilty.

I think it was the clown who had a stiffy for the O'Leary pick. I liked it as well.

He's not even considered a suspect. You're talking about a 1st round talent who had the misfortune of dating someone who ended up getting murdered. This could be the Bills first round pick.

He's a bit slow for an NFL TE, but he has great hands, toughness, and he's an exceptional blocker.
