Craig Adams done, a possible if not probably leave Sutter trade, a likely Scuderi buyout, and an influx of youth into the bottom six...

Its like someone went to cap school and figured out how to GM better.

I'm really excited about wbs chance at the Calder.. This will help kap sund Wilson and Megna grow more as players... I really hope they resign chorney too. He would be the perfect 7th dman. To throw in games to give guys a break. I hope they trade Lovejoy too.

I'd expect Sundqvist to be the 4C too. Give him Winnik and Downie as his wingers and the Pens could actually, for the first time in forever, have a 4th line that isn't worthless.

If they trade Lovejob as you want that will be admitting a huge error - currently it's just a bad luck situation with him playing above his pay rate! Doubt JR will admit how wrong it was by trading him.

Edit: sorry quote didn't happen so the above is to NH4442.

Nice article Ryan. I agree for what it's worth with pretty much all of what you said - bit disappointed about Adams though? Who's going to break balls at training now?

Lovejoy would be a fine #5 or #6 Dman especially at his pay rate. 22-23 minutes a game is to much for him

Screw the downie experiment. He isn't worth the headache. You can get equal production at value without the headscratching penalties and bad rep.

Not sure why I can't quote anyone.
Lapierre isn't an NHL player. He's as worthless as Adams or Sill.
Downie is a lunatic and I'd understand if the team didn't want to retain him. But his offensive production is way beyond his cap hit. And that is consistent in his entire career. I personally would be fine with bringing him back in a 4th line role. But I'd understand if they wanted to move on too. Just don't bring anymore non-NHL caliber players to the team.

You'd rather have a guy who had 2g 9a and was a -15 (Lapierre) over a guy that was 9g 25a and was a +23 (Winnik) ?

Have to play the youth

Perron sid horn
Trade/ufa Geno kap
Bennett sund comeau
Spaling Megna Winnik
Wilson

Letang maatta
Poliout Cole
Dumo Lovejoy
Chorney

Flurry
Murray

That's trading kuni for mid to low pick
Trading Sutter for winger or pick
Buying out scuds
Letting martin and ehrhoff walk
Dupuis retires

OK pick apart.

The Rangers scored 6 even strength goals in 5 games... Winnik was a minus 6

They're not bringing Downie back. My biggest disappointment with the coach is the volume of idiotic penalties and Downie is the poster child.

I just cant figure out what Sutter would return. My thought are a 3rd line winger. No team is going to hand over a top 6 guy for a bottom 6 guy. I think Kunitz provides value on the 3rd line. Dupuis is the x-factor.

I loved having Downie here. If he could just play hockey and not be a tool, he would be fantastic. Unfortunately, that seems to be too big an IF

Basing decisions on one 5 game series is stupid. Also, Lapierre sucked in that series (0 pts., -2) too so he'd still be gone.

Thats just dumb. Lap did nothing to earn a spot here at all. Downie at least scored goals, wen he wasnt in the box.

Id keep Winnik, Downie, Lap in that order. But beyond Winnik, I dont think we need either of them.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone valued him as a 2C.

Adams not returning is like the pens winning the lottery.

But seriously, if you package sutter with dumo or Harrington then you could grab a solid top 6 winger. JR needs to do some work at the draft. If the team adds another player who is anything like Hornqvist, I will be extremely happy
