Agreed. Was at the game last night and the will and dominance of the hawks after they decided they wanted it more (ie after the first 10 or so of the first) was palpable.

Glorious morning today - the sun seems a bit brighter, the birds seem a bit "chirpier" and my hangover after attendance seems not as bad as usual.

HELL YEAH!! Advancing!

THIS

I actually said the same exact thing to the person next to me. It was indeed palpable and the Preds were simply attempting to get into OT as a result of that.

NOTE: It didn't happen!

Funny, I agree it seemed like they wanted OT. Same MISTAKE the Hawks made in the third peirod in Game 5.

The Preds were tired. The Hawks took their best punch in the first and responded with the three goals, and that seemed t kill them psychologically, after that the Hawks pretty much thoroughly dominated, except for a brief Pred push early in the third.

Preds didn't do enough to exploit their speed advantage.

You have to give this core credit; they have grown up together, they have learned how to win, and most importantly they have won on the biggest of stage of all. I sad to a buddy last night, they just know how to win. The terrible start was quickly erased by the end of the 1st period, and after that it was only a matter of when and not if the Hawks were going to win the game. Experience does pay off in other places too, say what you will about 91, but he has Stanley Cup pedigree too with a nice Conn Smythe Trophy at home, and a nice big ring on his finger too. He turned his game up last night and wanted it more than the Preds as well. Enjoy these days everyone, as we are watching the greatest generation ever of Blackhawks hockey. This team has sustained dominance for a long, long time. Some nice players will be leaving after this year, but enjoy watching this team and core for as long as you can because in all likelihood it is not going to be as good as it has been, which begs me to ask this question, will it ever be? What a great time to be a Hawks fan for the last 8 years or so.

Random question....

How many Hawks from this group will have their number retired?

Hopefully none. It's a dumb tradition IMO.

Great post and largely agreed. I still think this team can be dominant in 8 years if they make some smart moves starting this offseason, but let's leave that til then.

Every retired number is a hall of famer (I don't count Magnuson's half of #3 as I think that was just a bone for the fans). Are Sharp, Keith, and Seabrook hall of famers?

You really going to give Seabrook the 7 in the rafters when you wouldn't give it to Chelios or Dennis Hull?

That's my bad, I changed the sentence and missed half of it. I meant to say Seabrook over Chelios and Sharp over Hull.

Good morning winners!

It's what everyone is saying because there's nothing else to say: These guys know how to win. When the moment is the biggest, they play their best, and better than the other team's best, no matter who it is. Just ask Zdeno Chara, Joe Thornton, Pavels Datsyuk and Pekka Rinne. We are very lucky to have this team. Now get 12 more wins. Go Hawks!
