Mrazek was spectacular. Seems like we've seen this story before. Fantastic performance by a rookie goaltender.

Wings had an advantage in Corsi, right?

53.4 to 53.1%?

im sorry Michael, i have to disagree with you. You cant put this on Bishop. Yes, he wasnt sharp. Yes we've seen this before with him on first shots, but the bigger factor was the PP. The PP isnt working. Something has to change on that PP.

Absolutely. When you get seven power play opportunities and fail to score, you probably don't deserve to win. But Bishop has to be a whole lot better. The guy at the other end was better, and that third goal was just abysmal. 11 saves on 14 shots isn't good enough. We can pull the 'not his fault' card all we want, but then we're getting into Lindback territory.

Let's hope Bishop is a Friar for the rest of this series.

Need to fix the power play badly. Good teams(Chicago) can capitalize on power play opportunities. The Lightning had so many chances to get a goal and tie the game back up on the powerplay but could rarely generate any quality shots, let alone any second chances or rebounds.

I want to blame this game on Bishop but i cant. My brother(a pretty good goalie) would often times let in bad goals when my team would possess the puck in the other zone for a while. When goalies don't get shots for a while, and are just sitting there, they seem more prone to let in bad goals. I know it isn't completely excusable for Bishop since he is a pro, but i feel like that was the case tonight. It is much easier for a goalie to do good when he is getting shots after shots, it keeps them on their toes and active, but when you aren't getting shots it's hard to stay focused and then be able to transition from being stationary for so long to making saves(although that last goal still should have been a REALLY easy save).

No. Bishop is their guy. If he really struggles in game two (i.e. more than he did tonight) then maybe I consider making the switch for game three. Maybe. He's shown an ability to bounce back and he's earned this opportunity.

That's not fair and not relevant at all, can't put last year and this game on Callahan.

Bishop was fine. Obviously he wishes he had the Glendening goal back but he didn't really have a chance on the Datsyuk goals.

I feel for you guys. Throughout the years we had plenty of these games where the Wings would dominate and then lose. It's strange that we are that team now. That said, 7 power plays? In the playoffs? Come on refs-reminds me of a few years ago playing the sharks and they had like 20 pp in 3 games and we had 6.

Most of the calls were garbage too, in my opinion. Weak.

Maybe so but Detroit didn't do themselves any favors by being stuck in their own zone most of the game.
