thanks for another season of hardwork, Bill! for about 2-3 years now you have been my exclusive source of flyer recaps and news, get just about everything i need to know about the team here.

I truly hope today we move on from craig berube. All jokes and snarky remarks aside i just can't pull for a guy in millbury fashion doubles down on dumb comments and decisions. Nobody's perfect but the guy is either arrogant or out of touch, either way its time to move on, imo. I truly believe this team couldve been a playoff contender and the misuse of umberger on the pp, then the atrocious road pk, topped off with the asinine comments about our team's mvp this year, just has a bad taste in my mouth.

My gut feeling is that he stays, but I am hoping we go a different route. I think if he was fired, they would have done it already.

Not quite sure what happens.

It is a little interesting that none of the coaches were with the contingent to see the phantoms play.

My gut is telling me he is probably out. That way they can at least get a start looking at guys and talking with guys not in the playoffs.

WHL: The Kelowna Rockets downed the Victoria Royals 4-2 on Tuesday night to seize a three games to zero lead in their second-round series. Flyers 2013 third-round pick Tyrell Goulbourne did not get on the scoresheet and was minus-one. Kelowna will look to close out the series on the road on Wednesday.

I don't wanna dump on the guy, but it seems like this is the same stat line every time I check a Kelowna game (except when he was out).

I didn't hear about the fact that none of the coaches were present. Interesting, but there could be many reasons for this. Nothing against Chief, but he wasn't hired by Hexy and I think he needs to go his own way with this rebuild.

What would Homer's thoughts matter?

Hextall is the person making the moves.

There is that voice from the corner of the boardroom of him, Eddie and Clarkie in the upper executive branch weighing in. I hope they shut their mouths and sit on their hands and let Hextall do his job.

I think it's time to move on from Berube. He's a decent coach who's been learning on the job, and while he didn't have the greatest roster to deal with, he still made some questionable decisions over the course of the season.

This team is in a bit of a restructuring mode, and bringing in a guy with more experience is the way to go, IMO.

I don't think Homer and Clarke really have any power.

I think they are more a sounding board to bounce ideas off. This is Hextalls show. Hextalls name was bounced around before he came here for GM jobs. Not sure he would come here to just be a yes man.

I agree..I was really angry with the way he handled Mason, and because of that, I am all for him being replaced. The question is, who do they go with then?

Maybe not a yes man, but after the fiascos of Bryz and Vinnie and the poor handling of the Lavvy situation, can Eddie be patient.
Those of us near social security age want to see another cup before we pass, Eddie is probably more impatient, but sometimes I think or know he is a businessman before a Flyers owner anymore considering the way things have gone with changes in the game and his support of the morons in charge

A lot will depend on who gets let go.

Guys that could be let go:

Hitchcock
Julien
Bodreau
Tippet
McClellen

Babcock could walk. If he resigns with Detriot then Jeff Blashill could be a hot commodity from Grand Rapids.

Luke Richardson could get a look. He has done well with Binghamton.

I just want Hextall to get his guy. Whoever he thinks can bring an identity to this team.

I just think they can do better at the coaching position. Bill said it best. Berubes done a good job laying the foundation of a team that is a responsible two way hockey club. The vinnys will not be tolerated on the roster. As the roster gets infused with more talent and speed, I'd like them to send that 3rd man down in the forecheck more often. Whether it be the center or the D. Far too many times we lose the puck in their zone when there's an opportunity to be more aggressive. Other than that I like the system

I just think there's better options out there

The Bryz thing was bad but Snider did what every fan wanted. Everyone wanted a goalie after the carousel that went on in the playoffs. He might have been the wrong one but he signed a check for homer to get a guy, who did play well with Anaheim and Phoenix. He also wrote the check to move on. Not many owners would just cut bait like that.

The Vinny signing was a player Lavy really wanted and they thought would provide offense and leadership and fill a little void Briere left. He was ok the first season but I think the injuries have hurt him.

We always say that snider meddles too much. I like that he gives his GM and coaches pretty much everything they want. Maybe the GM and coaches should do a better job of putting the puzzle together. This is something I hope I see in hextall with some of the shrewd moves he has made in his little time here.

Tippet would be my guy just because I think chasing Babcock is a bit unrealistic. If Julien somehow came available that'd be a no brainer too.

I think Tippet would be a fantastic fit though with the young D men that will be coming up over the next few years.
