yeah, exactly, and as great a deal you can get at Alexanian's carpet, I'd take the NHL pay check any day.

Leafs will be back on track once phaneuf and kessel are gone...moreso than anyone.

I don't think this rebuild will take as long as some are saying. The Leafs will pick up some pretty decent prospects for the likes of Kessel and Phaneuf, and if they dump VanReimsdyke (sp?) with his great contract, they will do very well. Same with Bozak, good player and very good contract..............great return.

Keeping Kadri also keeps that one guy around who spent his first 5 seasons with a terrible Leafs club. He can remind the young guys how much it sucked being a part of that s--- show, and motivate them to make the club better. Always good to keep someone around who had to live it.

If they can deal some of their players to move up their Nashville pick, or acquire another higher up 1st round pick, that would be favorable at this point based on the talent available within the top-10 of this year's draft. This should usher in an exciting new era for Leafs fan as it finally looks like a true rebuild will be established and complacency will be abolished. Draft lottery I have to feel based on the circumstances will certainly fall to either Arizona or Toronto based on the fact that it will be done "behind closed doors".

Even if they do get McDavid they will need some big bodies so they don't get abused physically (see Edmonton). I love that Fraser McLaren is keeping an eye on the baby Buds.
Players like Backes up front and another Polak type D are needed.

Another year of the tank and an opportunity of drafting Matthews and we are well on our way.

With no budget for scouting and development, invest here. Use the ECHL for even more development.

Guessing next the gm seems to be a complete shot in the dark. I don't think anyone saw any of Dubas, Hunter, prindham etc. happening.

I'd be content if they hire someone who has learned under a successful manager ... like Bowman/Tallon/Lomabardi/Holland ... or maybe someone from TB.

I do think Blashill is an interesting/reasonably realistic candidate for the coaching position.

I think The next GM should be Peter Ciarelli. I know he's still with Boston but will he be in the coming weeks after Boston missed the playoffs? Who knows. If that fails, I would go with Ray Shero.

The Coach should be Mike Babcock. Probably won't happen but in a perfect world, it would be nice to see him behind the bench. If not, Todd McLellan, Claude Julien if he's relieved of his duties or Dallas Eakins.

I'd like to see Strome in a Leafs Jersey. Following him would be Marner. Here's hoping Edmonton continues to build it's defense and doesn't draft either of these guys ahead of Toronto.

Question is, will Toronto have a GM in place by the time the draft comes around? If not, does Shannie do the drafting?
