Love your stuff, great summary, but I think you placed the Stamkos event entirely upside down. I watched the event live with the Bruins broadcast feed and watched the in between period discussion on the Bolts feed. Seems to be universal agreement, especially on the Bruin feed, that Stamkos showed great leadership in going after Marchand. The Bolts immediatly scored two goals while Stamkos and Marchand were in the penalty box. In going after Marchand, Stamos got his second career major penalty, nobody on the Bruins pushed back.
The idea that Marchand "successfully goaded" Stamkos into a fight is a bad choice of words that entirely misrepresents what went down.
If you are doing a post mortem on the Bruins season come this June you might be looking at the Stamkos/Marchand fight as the moment the wheels finally fell off the the bus for this season.
I did not see the Johnson NESN interview but it seems to represent a consensus.
Tyler Johnson on NESN during 1st intermission regarding @RealStamkos91 dropping the gloves.."that's awesome. he's our leader."

The " Nail " will be lack of...., first line R. Shooting RW, trading 55, Mental/Physical stoutness!
And these nails were placed before the season started!!!
AWESOME!!
Ty, will you be doing a revampment discussion on who the Bruins should trade, or trade for, or coaching change?

Well said I was thinking the same thing. Seemed like a very "homer" opinion of the situation that played out. And I wouldn't call it successful if the Lightning followed up the fight with 2 goals. Even if Stamkos didn't score them, his fight obviously started a fire for his team.

The Tampa Bay 4th liner Brown scored his 4th goal of the season by skating past 11M in salary cap (Chara- Seidenberg) and put one past our 7M dollar goalie. Things are looking good in Boston. Awesome job PC at the trade deadline. If team were paying too much at the deadline; you should of traded some players you dumb ass. [ ] |

I am sure people were lining up to trade for Chris Kelly, Gregory Campbell and Danny Paille...

I agree; I think we will look back at the Marchand- Stamkos wrestling match. The Bruins have had no push back all season long. The Big Bad Bruins are soft. Chara can't catch anyone to inflict a bone crushing body check and Seidenberg is the same. |

Idiot.. PC is the one that signed these players. Apparently you are missing the point, dumb ass. PC could not make a trade because of the poor contracts he gave out like candy.

Important, Marchand is not the bad guy. He shows up. So does Bergeron, but not sure where the rest of the push back comes from this version of the Bruins.

Exactly it... Some "Pink Hats" don't understand that. Fair-weather fans usually don't.
Marchand, Bergeron, Spooner, Pastrnak, Erikkson & Chris Kelly are guys I see an actual honest effort from night-in and night-out..
The rest are interchangeable.... too many passengers on this train. Never see a team that can have all these 5,6,7,8 game winning streaks and then follow them up with 3,4,5,6 game losing streaks.
It's maddening

Nope, you said, and I quote:
If team were paying too much at the deadline; you should of traded some players you dumb ass
Which eludes to nothing about bad contracts. You merely stated he "should have traded some players" and the players PC would have traded no one else would be coveting.
Bring it up to speed, Jr. |

This break in the schedule should be decent rest for Rask. They have been overplaying him, with little help on D. Losing Dougie doesn't help our chances. If he is out long term, I would agree with packing it in.
The way the Sens have been playing, they have a better shot at not getting knocked out of the playoffs in the first round by the habs than the bruins do. As much as I love watching habs/bruins duke it out in the playoffs, the B's havent played well enough to be anything more than a first round knockout.
Dont get me wrong, there is always the chance that the bruins take their game to another level IF they limp into the playoffs, but I'm seeing a lot of uninspired hockey when I watch them play. I think they have 2 or 3 guys that consistently play flat out every game. Everyone else its hit or miss.

Nah, can't pack it in when your "in" a playoff spot.
Not a favorable position right now, but to make the playoffs a lot of teams wouldn't want to face them as an 8 seed.
Only hope is OTT hits a stumbling block playing San Jose and NYR as the Bruins wont catch WSH now. 8th is the only "realistic" hope for them IMO |

Only good thing about not having a team in the Playoffs is you can watch entertaining games without having a heart attack or developing stage 2 diabetes |

It's the Bruins to lose and they don't seem interested. It has absolutely nothing to do with Ottawa except they want it more. You know what? They deserve it too. |

true that. you can't pack it in while you still hold a spot, but it sure looks tenuous.
I don't think the Bs would beat the Habs, but yes, the Sens might like they did a couple seasons ago...

I like the way the Blues are built, I really like almost the players on their team. I would to see them prove it in the playoffs. Nashville has been alot fun to watch this year. Really anyone out the west except VAN, CHI or ANA.
Possible Sacrilege : I could get behind the Isles or Sens. Both teams are actually out there earning it. Rather them then some fraud team like Boston or the Crapitals. |

Not sure why the Bs didn't make the structural changes necessary over the summer to make sure they were solidified on the backend... including having a solid backup to give Rask a rest when necessary... |

They already have. The spot is irrelevant. They're taking this Summer off. |

I'm not a fan of the flames, but they've been playing 'balls out' all season... The Jets could do some damage if their goaltending holds up... |

I can see why, division rival and all that. VAN has been playing above expectation I think. Thought this was supposed to be a bit of a retool. However Vrbata is someone I wanted the Bruins to pick up. Had a feeling he was going up once out of ARI. Just can't align myself with Vantel and Beatle_John...unpossible.

I can't give up hope yet. Looking at the schedule for Boston and Ottawa, I think the magic number is 3 loses. Any more than that and we won't even be close. |
