I still can't comprehend how Course is rated so high by ISS, I've seen him play a few times and have been underwhelmed every time, sure he'll at least be a good grinder in the NHL but his offensive ceiling seems to be lower than most players listed, and somehow he's ranked #3.

It's because he's almost a full year younger than some of the other guys.

He's right on the cut line of not being eligible till the 2016 draft.

As a scout, it must be tough to project out someone who is 6 mos to a year behind everyone else in the draft.

He will be the type that won't be 'NHL ready' next season, which will probably put him further down in the draft. But as a scout, they don't project that portion. They are projecting how good these kids will be in their prime.

No idea... Seems they're trying to push him onto everyone. It's getting annoying. Just like Ritchie last year.

Other than McDavid, he's the only guy from this draft year to make the Canadian Junior team. No Marner. No strome.

Obviously the people picking that team saw something in him that others didn't.

And he did look good there. He does have some sweet hands. I don't know why everyone assumes he is a grinder.

Again, he may not be NHL ready for a couple seasons and he will probably slide down the draft because of it, but scouts are projecting his top end, not where he will be next year.

If we are going to compare his numbers, let's wait till next season to do it, when he's essentially the same age as the other top end guys are this year. He also plays for a pretty terrible OHL team.

That said, I think he's being overrated too, but not by as much as others seem to.

I agree with everything you said here.

Ps. those that are critisizing his point totals should know that he has been a PPG player since returning from WJC

Why is Crouse always moving up? He has a worse PPG than Zacha, and yet Zacha is falling in every ranking. IMO Crouse shouldn't be in the top 10.

Thanks for the update! Always love the evolution of their rankings and I truly believe we should focus on MARNER if we can't get McEchel or maybe STROME, but we really need to get a center, We have Evander Kane #3 Overall , No thanks on Crouse.

He played on the 4th Line with Frederick Gauthier. What good hands did you see?

Even with his strong 2nd half in the OHL, he ranks 11th in that league in scoring for players under 18.

In the WHL he'd rank 16th and in the Q he'd rank 15 and that's just in under 18 scoring.

Mackinnon was one of the youngest guys in his draft class. He had no problems excelling in his draft year. Lawson Crouse is bust in the making.

Pssst...standings don't mean anything, it's playoff finish.

Hence the "joke" that the Blues pick was traded and not the Isles.

So you are comparing him to a phenom? Comparing him to the next Crosby? Comparing him to a guy who is setting OHL records?

I will say it again. He is the youngest top ranked player in this draft class - almost a year younger than some of the other players.

Comparing his numbers (on a poor OHL team) to older guys who play for juggernauts is grossly unfair. The people who get paid to rank players put him in the top 5. Team Canada picked him over Marner and Strome. "Hockey people" are saying he is good. I will take their word for it.

I compared him to Mackinnon who was one of the youngest guys in his draft class. Mackinnon had very little problems in the Q(more run and gun that OHL, but still)

Look at Lawson Crouse's first 2 years in the OHL. They compare to Remi Elie, Brett Ritchie and Benoit Pouliot.

I do think the Leafs have two can't miss prospects in Rielly and Nylander.
