The deal was actually Kaberle, 7th (Kadri) for Kessel, and 2009 Bostons 1st (guessing the pick that turned into Caron).
burke thought it was the Leafs following years 1st (2010).

You guys are blessed with Phil Kessel. I don't think Dion is all that great and his contract is questionable, but Kessel showed some nads and true leadership with his comments, especially for a guy who has been scapegoated himself. He, and to a lesser extent Phaneuf, deserve better.

Kessel takes a ton of crap. He's a classic player that is only considered 'over-rated' because he's a leaf. In the Philly game they had a graphic that said the league leaders in points since the 2011 season is:

Giroux - 285
Malkin - 275
Kessel - 264
Ovehkin-262
Crosby - 259

Games played would be a factor, Crosby was out for a lot of that time. I'm just saying if you told people that Kessel was in the same ballpark as Giroux, OV and Malkin you'd be laughed at.

and playing with Tyler Bozak/Matty Stajan. Put him with Backstrom or Sid/Malkin and we'd see

Kessel is 48th in PPG this season... 22nd last year... 12th 2 years ago... 11th 2011...

So he has been declining in production in terms of how it relates to the rest of the league in PPG... Not to slight the guy, just wanted to find out...

A lot of people don't even consider him an elite winger, which is laughable. Get Kessel a real center and away from these third line talents like Kadri and Bozak and watch him be a top 3 RW in the league.
