While Talbot was beloved here and will always be, he HAS NOT been anywhere near the guy that scored two in Game 7. You could probably stop ringing that bell.

Only guy I wish we went in on was Petry, but other than that I don't care we didnt get others especially Stewart. I also have to agree with Chia though, is Petry much of an upgrade over what we have?

I am fine with the moves made and glad we didn't blow the bank on a rental

agreed, wait and see I guess. Wasn't expecting anything big. But Wft .... looks like Brewer went pretty cheap, kind of defenseman that the bruins could have used.
It also irks me that for the second time this year, the bruins gave away a prospect for nada, zilch.. nuttin...

Honestly I wouldn't have taken Brewer over anyone in our, probably, Top 8 Dmen!

Agree on Cunningham though, sucks to lose him for nothing at all. I liked him on L4

According to tsn, the talbot trade included paul carey, with a 2016 6th rounder and caron going the other way.

Just did a quit analysis of Carey's stats, not too terrible, but nothing to get extremely excited about either. Looks like he has put up a fair number of points in the AHL, but his game hasnt transitioned to the NHL level. Still, was nice to know we had a little more than just talbot coming back.

I think the serious re-tooling comes this summer, and this team certainly needs that shake-up. I wasn't expecting much out of this deadline, but was hoping to be surprised. If they don't make the playoffs people are going to be firing up those pitchforks for Chiarelli. To be honest there is a decent possibility they don't make the playoffs, they have a tough stretch of games coming up against Philly, Tampa, Pitt and a red hot Senators team.

It was odd, I was watching NESN yesterday and Brickley had Connolly as a healthy scratch when Krejci comes back. It got me pretty peeved to see him and Spooner scratched for a Campbell-Talbot-Paille line. Obviously thats just Bricks opinion, but still seemed odd to me

Let me start by saying I understand there really wasn't a big piece moving at the deadline that they missed out on. However, Johnny was MOVED in order to facilitate future deals to ADD to this Team. NEVER HAPPENED, so really Boychuk went to the Fishsticks for squat, YES Connoly is on the team (seems like a good player) but given the choice between a True Top 4 d-man and a 3rd line player I just think Chia may have swung and missed yet again (for this current Season anyway)

He decides to trade #55 so he won't lose assests, but wont move #34 for the same reasons ??

The fact that anything was acquired for Jordan Caron is a win. Caron is worth frozen 2 day old poop.

I think Talbot can help but still I was hoping for the Bruins to be sellers. I guess we'll get to endure another bounce from the Habs. Might as well start drinking now. Oops too late...

In PC's press conference he said that Colorado retained half the salary too.

Yeah Super Joe is a classy guy. We also got Carey in the deal which isn't too terribly exciting, but another decent player to play in providence. Replaces Cunningham anyways.

think the Boychuck trade was also a cap move. i like that they don't mortgage the future at the deadline when the prices are ridiculous. looking forward to the summer though. i expect a few "major" moves then.

Yeah Carey isnt the worst, hes a warm body with some speed and legs at the very least. I was hoping he would take Talbots spot on the 4th line if they were able to dump him at the deadline or this offseason. But to get Caron and pick for the both of Carey and Talbot, Ill take it.

Seems like a pretty lateral move for both sides, maybe Avs getting a bit more potential in Caron if the team can find some scoring confidence with them.
