Good deal. Done. Polak has scored more goals than Drouin this year. We're robbing you.

Will help teach them how to play with heart till we are good. You need players like this to help out see Edmonton rebuild if you want all kids.

see how edmonton rebuilds after they get mcdavid or eichel. Then we'll talk. They didn't have the luxury of a tavares, crosby, or stamkos in their #1 overall drafts.

you can pick up vets like polak, winnik, santo off UFA and deal them. roman polak isn't anything special, we've just had gutless players for so long he seems that way.

Put it in perspective...you can get a good draft pick for him, or keep a guy who's been no higher than a #4-5 dman on a good team for a rebuild?

Get as many picks as you can, sign these UFAs. Leaf fans wanting to keep this guy or that haven't accepted the term 'rebuild'.

If its a very good pick then sure but if its a 3rd then id rather keep him is what im saying.

And to your comment to edmonton didn't have a chance to draft a crosby type yet well all they players they have drafted are ruined due to them being all injured prone from being played at 18 years old they could have been better players if they where developed proper through the ahl. Hall would prob be twice the player he is now if they kept him down.

We don't have a second, which makes this even more unlikely IMO.

they are all ruined? hmmmm...i think all the leaf fans who at first rejected a rebuild, and now say they embrace it are being unrealistic as to how long and painful it will be. We will be just as bad as edmonton for just as long.

We'll take tampas 2nd in 2016 then!

I'd still rather go out and get a better rental. Yzerman doesn't seem to like that idea though.

it's a tough spot. Polak is a great defensive dman, who is affordable. You guys aren't old so you can use him for next year too. the rentals out there don't seem to fit his mould either. Sekera and Petry would, depends on if you just want a rental or want a guy for next year as well. The east is wide open this year, and i think it will be next year too.

Yes Hall is injured a lot and so is Hopkins a lot he isn't even the same player anymore.

You cant really argue that they wouldn't have been way better off keeping these guys out of the nhl for a few years. And in my opinion they wont ever get as high as they could have if they did it right. Yes a Eickle will help them but when Hall is gune be done at 30 years old leaves a smaller window to win kinda like Lecav who did win a cup in time.
Basically all im saying is you need transitional players to keep your kids in the ahl like Detroit can do.

Since there is only one Petry and you may or may not get him then you may need to look at option B or C

Detroit is an anomoly and never rebuilt. Really only Edmonton has gone complete scorched earth. That's where we are headed, get ready for it. Get mad at nonis not Clark Griswold! And if hall is done at 30, what is kessel???
