why do you even want him tbh. You can draft your own players.

Foligno and the 1st I don't mind. Not crazy about losing Armia or Grigorenko though.

However, I don't think there is another prospect in the system that is both one I'm willing to lose and that the Jets would want enough to make the trade.

If that's what takes, pull the trigger on Armia. I would still rather keep Grigorenko around for two reasons.

One, he has done what has been asked of him. Two, as a center he gives the Sabres more flexibility down the road.

nice read (reed/reid)

IMO Kane is a second line player who's only consistency is to under-perform

for that asking price, I'd rather throw a tad more out there and get a bonafide first line player

After the Burmistrov exit in Winnipeg, wonder if the Jets would want Grigorenko based on that. The KHL fear since they already chased one Russian off bc mistreating them.

Would not wanna see that.. I'm fine with dealing one of the later first rd picks and say Stafford or Stewart..

Two reasons really.

He has already proven what he can do in the NHL where as a prospect is a gamble (although so is Kane's attitude, but maybe a little less so).

It speeds up the rebuild process as well. Rather than what 2-3 years for a late 1st round pick to develop, you get a guy that can play on the 1st or 2nd line next year.

Even tho Kane is uber-talented but has character issues, my only concern is that now he's become injury-prone too much regardless of anything else.......

He has been playing a third line grinding roll and he hits a lot. Put him in a Top 6 role when he is a trigger man on the line (even though he cant hit the net bc he plays with way too long of a stick)

I don think the injury issues should be a real concern

Your not going to get Kane giving up 1 of 2 guys that are UFA's, not gonna happen.

Take it from a Leafs fan that all we have done is trade for wingers and lose prospects and picks doing it. Its a bad move. Wingers are the last thing a team needs, build your D build down the middle and just wait for wingers get some ufa or develop your own. IMO the only time to trade for a winger is if you are a cup contender with cap.

with that asking price for Kane, I'd rather try to snag Reilly Smith from the Bruins

both IMO are second line wingers and Smith would come a lot cheaper

dude, u don't have to sell me Kane, I've been a supporter of his and wish isles would get him (would look sweet next 2 JT) but he has been having too many injuries almost every year...

They have the players/prospects in place for the d and down the middle(based on them getting McEichel). Trading one of the late 1sts for a winger isn't that much of a risk honestly.

you realize Stewart has 17 points in the last 23 games

on the worst team the NHL has seen in the last decade

They aren't being forced to do anything and they will get the asking price for Kane, hurt or not. You won't get Kane trying to give that bum Stafford or Stewart.

I disagree based on the fact buffalo doesn't have any established leaders that can put kane in his place he would come there and have the same issues that he has on the jets. But maybe thats just me.

IMO Boston moves someone else in order to make room for Smith, Hamilton, and Krug.
