Could have easily been Hall on the top line if the Oilers made the right choice. But I'm not going to complain.

Soderberg is a tough call, I think like you suggested he will get paid on the open market. Smart move would be to let him walk but he has been very good for you guys this season.

What kind of a return do you think would be fair for Eriksson? If the top lines are set like you have suggested, it seems like an obvious choice to move on from him.

Because Krug and Smith signed bridge deals I believe their value is quite a bit higher. As for Hamilton, 3.5 per for 2 yrs on a bridge deal. If a long term your probably looking between 5.5 and 6

That's the tricky thing, in the right environment he could regain his scoring touch that made him effective in Dallas. It seems he has struggled adjusting to the system in Boston, but is starting to show flashes of the skill he has that made him attractive to Boston. I certainly think at the deadline he could fetch a 1st rounder or a high end prospect possibly more. He is the type of player who could put a contender over the edge. Just go back and look at some of the past deadline deals with lesser players being traded for good returns. Erat for Forsberg, Guastad for a 1st ect.

smart thing would be to sign sods without trade clause in case we have to move him over the summer. address krug and smith in the summer after we win the cup. ps and sign dougie yesterday

I don't see in scenario why Smith is kept. Kid is a plug.

Dont see any reason he stays. Totally inconsistent and invisible too many nights. Take that $2 mill and put it towards Soderberg. Griffith will take his place next year and see what you can get for him at the deadline.

I really think you under valued Krug, I'm thinking he will be getting somewhere around 4 to 4.5. He has put up points consistently and I just don't see him getting that cheap of a deal especially since he re-signed for so cheap.

I would agree. Krug at 2.75 seems undervalued to me. However he is a 3rd pairing dman that only plays 18 mins a game. I don't think you want to pay 4 mil+ for that. He is somewhat of a PP specialist so it's tough to put a value on him. I think Pete should be open to offers for moving, Krug and Smith. I'd keep Louie and resign Carl. Dougie can run the PP. Be nice to get a bridge deal done with Dougie for less. However if you can lock him up for 5 yrs at 4.5 mil per that could be a steal in a couple years.

Not all about points. He is a 3rd pairing guy only plays 18 mins/game. So he isn't a guy that plays a lot of key minutes and relied upon defensively. Claude doesn't seem to trust him. I like Krug though, really has helped Boston's PP!

The Oilers will never make the right choice. Glad Seguin is doing his talking on the ice.

There is just NO WAY Smith is going to get 3m/yr That's Nuts. he's not a top 6 forward in the NHL, he's a 3rd line winger on a good Team.

I don't know if Chiarelli throws him in a package for Vermette (or 'insert veteran here') or how he works it (because he has to be replaced), but I really don't see the value in keeping a player who's upside is supposed to be his offense, when he's invisible a lot of nights.

I hear that Bart is back on the table for Kassian. Not sure if I like that trade. Not a big fan of Kassian.
