Great article Michael once again, very good.

I like Richards but the length of the contract will make the Sabres look away.

Wait for him to clear and offer a second rd pick, with LA retaining half his salary

thx...always loved him, but it's not a good fit for buffalo, imo...he has issues and the sabres need to expend their energies elsewhere

I think he would be a good player to add for what we are doing but his years left on his contract answer that question.

I don't get all of the "No's". Don't we want a vet to show the young kids how not to stay in shape while demonstrating how to play your way onto the fourth line?

"the first and only player in NHL history to play in two series in which his team came back from a 3-0 deficit to take the series in seven games (Philadelphia Flyers in 2010, Los Angeles Kings in 2014)".

Jeff Carter? no?

I don't think it would even cost a second.

You could probably offer them a 6th or 7th with the salary retained just to get 80-85% of his salary off his books.

idk...if they were to claim him, I could live with that, even with that contract length...but I really don't think they should, even with his resume

I thought about how high your 2nd would be in a deep draft, a 4th would probably do it. They can only retain half though

I think it's a 40:60 risk that he gets back to his better form.

He's implying that LA retains 15-20% thus getting 80-85% off their books.
