Everytime a dman goes down you shout over payment trade.

You fail to remeber this is a heck of a draft. So does a team gamble on their future for a chance? Most likely not.

If Meyers is so good why would Buffalo entertain trading him? It makes little sense. You have to figure after this season the Sabres will be in the hunt for the play offs if not the Cup. They are defnitely going to be competing within three years which puts Meyers in his prime. Then what would it cost to get a player like him when you need him?

Murray is right to only take an over payment, unless it is thought this Meyers is a flash in the pan and not very good.

Stewart's current value is at high a fourth round pick. Why? He was on a good team that moved him before their play offs last year and has done nothing on a terrible team. You trade for him because of hope. Hope is not worth much in assets.

I was thinking the same thing.
Reminds me of last season when any time a goalie got a hang nail it was "Miller to Washington, Miller to Anaheim, Miller to NJ, etc"
I guess this is the 2014/15 story that he is going to write in between drooling over finishing last.

Doesn't make much sense to trade for a rental just to fill in for an injured player who will be back before the playoffs when you're comfortably in a playoff position. Unless the rental is dirt cheap.
