It's always nice to see teams sign players to long term deals and then start discussing moving those players in the first year or so. Well managed cap. |

Boy things sure went sideways on Nonis fast, they better can his ass if they know what's good for them. Shanny should just wipe the slate clean and start with new manager and coaching staff. |

I hope that's not an Islanders fan criticizing another team for terrible long term contract signings..... |

Did I say he was coming to Toronto, or did I say the islanders would lose him?

He's had two GM jobs essentially given to him indirectly by the departure of Brian Burke, and failed miserably at both of them…the guy has horseshoes up his behind like I've never seen before.
Perhaps a good front office guy with hockey knowledge, but he doesn't have the moxie or know-how to perform GM duties. |

If things line up the way they look now then Hunter may take over as the G.M. with Dubas as the assistant.
I'm happy with that. People have been griping about getting new blood in the front office for years. |

It will be interesting to see who he moves before and at the deadline.
Franson is as good as gone Lupul will go and the return won't be what he is worth when healthy. Kadri is a big question mark, I think they should keep him. If Bernier wants more than 5mill, get our second back for him. Find somewhere for Robidas to (frank) rite off to. Keep Santo and Winnik. Play the kids. |

Come to grips with it, friend. He will leave. The Brooklyn experiment will fail. The Islanders will fade back to obscurity after a brief stint with success.
Much like the Leafs had. |

With the possible cap going up next year and years after, plus the financial gain the isles will have being in Brooklyn and the best city (NY) in the US, book it my friend, he's a lifer.............. |

If the Islanders continue with their success and winning ways, I don't see Tavares wanting a change…winning is the only thing that matters. |

I do agree that the Leafs will get a huge return for JVR. It's worth looking into. |

Just asking, why???? Bc of DP which is no longer on the books? Or bc of Yashin and his last year being on the books? Grant it, those were bad mistakes in an era when NHL didn't have any strict cap restrictions in comparison to today.. |

The deal should be Detroit's first for Franson AND Holland has to select the player in June. |
