Nailed it. How physical is the All-Star game anyways? You're being paid millions upon millions of dollars to play hockey, perhaps it's best to just show up and put in some sort of effort, 20 minutes worth at least? |

Sorry, but this Habs fan is happy that PK, Patches and Price are not playing in the All Star game. I'd rather my team get a week of rest then risk getting hurt and ruining a season over a stupid all star game that means absolutely nothing!! |

The league, owners and players association brought this on themselves when they changed the All Star game from being a game that represents every teams best player to ... well, I am not sure what it is.
They made it known that checking was not allowed...so goalies....good luck out there.
Really, it should be that if a player is voted in by the fans or however they are selecting the "starters" and they don't go, the players team should forfeit any revenue from the All Star game.
If they aren't event going to have the real All Stars, then just do away with the entire farce, have the fans vote on a first team and second team, have a mid season break with a skills competition....you could even make it part of the Winter Classic weekend, and be done with it.
As it is now it is the worst of all worlds and getting worse by the minute. |

Maybe if they stopped allowing players who don't deserve to be All-Stars in the event, maybe the real All-Stars would show up....

Crosby, the greatest player of this generation according to most, has played in a grand total of how many allstar games? That he can constantly be allowed to duck this games is a slap in the face to fans. Sure the owners would prefer he didn't play. Guess what. The owners of all the other teams have stars at the game as well.
