David Perron is pretty great to watch. He will be this generation's Alex Kovalev. - Ryan_Wilson
I refuse to believe this until Perron takes his first 7-minute shift. |

I like the D other than scuds but after the philly game and the way scuds played. I am semi ok with him helping in playoffs...
But if they do trade him for cap room amd to let borts/dumo/ harrington slide in the 7th slot, I'm ok with that too... lol
Also, I'm glad for this break. Let them get healthy. Roll these lines out after break:
Perron Crosby Horn
Comeau Malkin Bennett
Kuni Sutter Downie
Spaling Goc Sill
Arc Adams
Swap kuni and comeau or bennett if needed... |

Read mikes article this morning and I'm pretty sure Pouliot should get his bonus. His play is NHL ready and that is obvious to see. Those who preach the "he can't play in his own end" crap fail to recognize what he what he actually does and only focus on what he isn't doing. His entire body of work is ready. Keep him up, he is the best possible replacement.

Ryan Wilson: Letang And Malkin Out + Pouliot Needs To Play + Is #JagrWatch2015 Dead?
Letang And Malkin Out + Pouliot Needs To Play + Is #JagrWatch2015 Dead? - Ryan_Wilson
What's with Bennett ? Thought I seen the other day he was healthy for the first time in a while ? Wouldn't a healthy Bennett go along way in eliminating a need for an additional forward upfront ? I also worry from a Devils stand point that we are very bad partners for trading. We are both in the same division, you guys already made a huge addition in Perron ( cup chances have already gone up ), no first this year and your second would be a lot closer to our 3rd and lastly your strengths seem to lie in defensive prospects and thats the absolute last thing we need is another defensive prospect. Also figure kapanen and Bennett would be pretty untouchable so I don't see a desirable package to build around? |

That's the thing. The Penguins could offer a good deal for Jagr, but they'd be competing with roughly a dozen other teams. Some of them can probably offer a comparable or better deal, and if they're out of the division, you'd rather send him there all things being equal. |

Said it before and I'll say it again, why not use Pouliot in a role like Krug 2 seasons ago? Shelter him and let his offensive skills shine. He was all over the place last night generating chances. |

His first few games he was very soft. No physicality at all. The game last night he was willing to throw his body around a bit and was much tougher along the boards. His defensive game isn't bad, I was just worried about if he is physically ready. He's reminding me much like maatta and how he developed |

How many picks do you have left in this draft? Pens sure have shelled out the picks over the past few years for poor rentals |

I think he is a clone of Letang with a better shot tbh, but I see where you are coming from. |

The fourth line's dominance over the other team's fourth line in possession stats does not mean the fourth line players need more ice time. It means you got good depth production. Unless you want to start playing the fourth line against better players--which will drive their numbers down. |

He has potential to be letang-like but again, he needs to get that extra physical edge that letang has. He's still very young so it's a good chance he can develop that over time and with confidence |

Can we end this #Jagrwatch2015 stuff for the Penguins? No chance we can get him. We don't have the cap space and we won't unload Scuds or Martin there due to NTC clauses. We won't even unload any of our D, maybe Dumoulin but I don't think we will either. Bortuzzo won't fetch much at all due to needing a new contract after the season. We are bare bones with draft picks this year as well and we NEED our future picks. If we even were to get Jagr, where does he even fit?
Perron-Crosby-Hornqvist
Kunitz-Geno-Bennet
Comeau-Sutter-Downie
Spaling-Goc-hopefully not Adams
All line combos are pretty much interchangeable. No reason to trade out any more young assets for a rental. We will have to pay a premium as well with NJ in our division.
We don't need any trades, we just need to get healthy.
Also I like Pouliout, I've said before he wasn't ready yet but (frank) it. He actually doesn't pass up shooting the puck and last night played more physically. Play him third line with Scuderi or something going forward. |

Doesn't seem to be a fit but I think he is just discussing it. Lou has a tough job he has to get as much value for a 42 year old as he can because that 42 year old is our best player lol. I think the three Cali teams would make a good fit. |

I thought the Arcobello - Goc - Downie line was electric last night.... 3 guys who are possession players but also have more than just a bit of scoring touch. I think that could be a dynamite 4th line come playoff time.
When healthy, Adams has to be the odd man out unless we can find a buyer for Spalling.
Kunitz - Crosby - Perron
Bennett - Malkin - Hornqvist
Spalling - Sutter - Comeau
Arcobello - Goc - Downie
Letang - Martin
Erhoff - Pouliot/Despres
Scuderi - Despres/Pouliot
It has the look of a cup contending team IMO

Well a lot of people on the Pens board seem to think we need Jagr without thinking about where he would actually fit/cap issues/giving away more assets/division trade premium when realistically we are a the deepest we've been since the cup team |

Unless I am missing a Shero deal... we are just down our 1st for this year for Perron, but have an extra 5th or 6th (forget which) from the Klink deal. |

I agree. We just need to get healthy. We should be healthy shortly after the break, hopefully Letang is fine and sitting over the break just to get Rinaldo the max suspension

I agree. It stinks for Downie to be put down on the 4th, and he plays better than to be a 4th line player, especially over Spaling. But if we can get healthy enough where that is our 4th line, I would feel very comfortable rolling 4 lines and not having to play top 9 with the occasional 4th line usage. Best case scenario would be trading Spaling for a different 3rd line winger. |

Also down a 3rd and a 5th from the Goc trade last year.
EDIT: Disregard the 5th, that was in last year's draft. So just missing the 1st and 3rd this year. |
