Was fun watching this guy in his prime. Heck, if he played he would still be fun to watch.

Throwback just because. (great article by the way)

Have so many fond memories of watching that man play from about 10 feet away. Sad to say we wont ever see something like that again.

And I'd go further and say we'll never see a goalie as dominant as Hasek was ever again. For all the "Broduer is better" "Roy is better" they never had the individual accolades that Hasek did during their primes together, they did have better teams around them.

Hasek was the GOAT for goalies.

In spring of 1994, at the fun age of 23, I was able to get free tickets down low in the corner.

I made a Hasek for Vezina sign, displayed it throughout the game.

After the game, Dom got the first star and then skated over to me to autograph the sign.

If Hasek had 1/9 the talent on those rosters hed have a few cups ..... oh wait he got 2 on solid teams.

I think there is a debate of whos better roy or broduer ( as for them being the 2 most technically sound in history) but hasek is in a whole another debate

I'm a little shocked at how low tickets are going for this game on Stubhub.

not to mention the hasek banner give away will be a staple in my future finnished basement

I argue with a friend of mine who played at a pretty high level about this often. He is of the "hasek played poor positionally" ilk. And i say "who cares, he kept the puck out of the net."
Its kind of like the people who dont like Gretzkys skating.
You wouldnt complain about it if he was on your team.

I was young during the time so overal knowledge of him bein g "out of position" i cant say concretely. But what I do recall vivadly is going after pucks that 99% of goalies wouldnt go out and challenge. the 100'shoghlight reel saves he made was he out of position or were they just should have been sure fire goals and he just made the save.

I went to high school in Northeastern PA. Played high school hockey at a low level. Always wore blank black Sabres jersey as my practice jersey. Had the socks too.
