It's easier for him to showcase his skill now that there isn't a coach that refuses to play him. |

Severson's injury opened the door for Larsson to get playing time on the top pairing with Greene and he's taking advantage of it.
Paired with Gelly, he said he had to stay back more - it's clear that Gelly was an anchor on him....
It's great to see the kid gain more confidence each day and start to turn into the player that everyone was expected him to become. Still a ways to go but improving at a rapid pace. |

Looking at the injured list. Either I missed what the causes were or maybe they just didn't say why. Bryce Sal. Did they ever say why he was injured? Butt hurt? Too old to play? Damon Severson. What is wrong with him?
Could not bring myself to watch the third period of last nights game. had to play some nhl 15 to get my mind off of a horribly played game. |

Salvador don't know don't care. Severson I think has a hairline fracture in his leg/ankle probably from taking a shot. |

I know we don't really have a choice but i still can't believe Gomez is on our top line.
Dear god this team is such a joke. |

The guy has always had success here. I don't get why it has be we are so bad he has to play ( we are bad though ). He could be like jagr and just need to play in top situations |

I know he's playing well but i'm speaking in general. I mean this guy was on the scrap heap prior to the season and now he's on our top line. It just goes to show how far we've fallen as a franchise. And i'm sorry but there is no way he'll be like Jagr. |

You're right; it was the problem we had with Tedenby. Tedenby would have been a good hockey player in the NHL if he would produce at a top 6 pace, and then he could play wing on one of the first two lines. But he was a terrible 3rd/4th liner. So he was pretty much top 6 or bust, and ended up being bust.
Gomez is no different. He does all right in top 6 roles, and the better goal scorers he plays with, the better he is as a guy who opens up space for them, because that's always been his one "thing" as a hockey player. When he played with Mogilny in 2001, we had the deadliest 2nd line in hockey. Man, were we ever explosive then. |

The Devils just have to suck it up and go through a rebuild. They are solid in net and have some real good young defensemen, but really have to do something to address the prospect pool at forward. It seems pretty obvious that they are going to attempt to acquire some picks at the deadline, and from there you just have to draft well. They should get a really, really good player given their likely draft position this year. May not be a long rebuild if they draft well.

I love Larsson have been a fan since that draft but I hope he craps the bed tonight. - Cptmjl
I wouldn't worry - we looked like Buffalo last night against Boston. It was like a mob of pit-bulls attacking a box of kittens. We got 3 shots on goal, all into the goalies pads. I wouldn't expect much different tonight. |

I also think that part of Gomez's re-emergence was a sort of reality check that he's only 34 and he had one shot left. If NJ didn't sign him no one was. As much as I'm still bitter about him bolting across the river, I don't mind giving him one year contracts as long as he keeps up his level of play. Or if someone will actually give up a pick for him he could also be an asset at the deadline. |

I wouldn't mind a guy like Cole if he was a righty, but he's not. We have no one signed for next year to play RW. We probably sign Bernier again for the 4th line and that's fine, but Ryder will be gone and Jagr might not be here either. We need someone to play RW next year.
I'd like to see Gelinas moved for a young RW that maybe is struggling with his current team. Not sure who that player is though. |

I am so glad the Larsson / PBD saga is over. You could write a book about that poop. I always wondered if there was some ridiculous background story like Larsson banged Pete's daughter at a Christmas party or something because it was an obvious and blatant dislike Pete had for Adam. |
