When scoring three or fewer goals in a game, Philly has a 2-14-5 record.

Will be interesting to see how they respond to Berube's reaming at yesterdays practice

Not sure if anything was ever written or posted on the feed here about the PK strategy/setup? it seems like ti flyers sit back and have 1 guy moving around with the puck. I've never seen anything like that before. what happened to splitting up the ice on each half of the zone. It makes it seem like the team is sitting back an not challenging the shot like when Grossmann could only get out so far on Forsebergs goal the other night.

Oh good lord. I can't believe some of you are reading into this sensational journalism. Glad you guys weren't around for the Spanish-American war because you would be no help in the anti-war department of public opinion.

I really don't see this team making playoffs therefore Chief may not be here next year. I wouldn't mind seeing Deboer. He really has not had the opportunity to coach a team with " offensive capability"

Deboer could be an interesting candidate. Why is everyone so down on Bylsma? The guy did win a Cup. Yes the Penguins had a lot of talent, but they were often crippled by injuries, and with the exception of the one Cup season MAF has been a sieve in the playoffs. I would be open minded to Bylsma, DeBoer, Boucher, and even Paul Maclean. I thought he did a pretty good job in Ottawa with not a ton of talent. He won the Jack Adams in 2012-2013. All these coaches sure have much better resumes, and pedigree than Berube.

Our lifeless PK is practicing against futile PP units- please lower your expectations.

Our PK coach has very limited (practically 0) coaching experience.

Although, I stated it before, but I do not understand Lappy's promotion to the NHL level coaching staff. I loved him as a player and as a youth development specialist, but AC of the NHL franchise he is not.

Bylsma has kind of fallen off everyone's radar. I have not heard much about him lately.Maclean or DeBoer would be my choices. You would hope Hextall will make a hire to get " his coach of choice" in place to start next season

I was hoping for someone with more experience when Berube was named, but he turned the team around last year, so the hiring was deemed 'ok'.

Hextall has to decide if the guy he wants to bring in is available now, or will waiting until the summer offer up a better option for his view of the future.

Coaches get salty all the time. It just so happens reporters were actually paying attention this time.

Thanks Bill. Have you any idea about what is going on with Straka down with the Phantoms? He seems to be scoring on a regular basis, but the team had kept bringing up Akeson. Do you think that he is stuck in the AHL? Will he ever get a chance to play for the Flyers? Would you be interested in including a report on your opinion of the Phantoms players, and where they stand at this time with the team?
Appreciate the articles.

I think looking at replacing the coach will depend on how this season plays out.

I think it would take a pretty bad meltdown for Berube to get fired, in season, and frankly, I can't think of what he has done to deserve it now.

No coach out on the market right now will be able to turn this roster into an Eastern Conference juggernaut on Day 1. Until they can get some talent on the blueline and more consistency out of the guys they already have (the young guys and Matt Read, etc), it doesn't much matter who the coach is.

This isn't some talent laden roster that some other coach can squeeze something out of. This roster is full of holes; some of which, you can't coach around.

Petr Straka has 39 points in 88 AHL games. Akeson has 183 points in 221 AHL games. That's 0.44 points per game vs. 0.83 so it would make more sense to bring up Akeson in terms of offense.

When this team does not make playoffs then I think Hextall will fire him. Hextall would probably like to hire a coach. Berube was not his hire. Yes, the blueline is not good and we do have a Vinnyburger, however IMO I just think Hexy will want his own choice and after a season without playoff appearance would be time to make change
