What do you think about the hit......?

Looked like he tucked his arm and after the hit it left his side.....

Interference....?

I think that's a headshot. Whether that's because Gionta's 5-foot-7 or not is irrelevant. That's on the defenseman or whomever to be aware of that. I agree with the call. (BTW, I don't think they were doing Gionta any favors with a pass like that.)

You think it's a suspension....?

The more I see it, especially once they slowed it down, it looked like he tried to tuck his arm.......and was more of Bart "hitting a defensive receiver" kinda play.

I know odd reference, but that's what I thought as soon as I saw it.....more so than a "principle point of contact is the head."

I don't know....bet he get two games though.....

Chara and Seindenberg are our best D men but this year they seem to look so slow.......like there feet are in quicksand........

Have we even seen Chara wind up for a 105mph slapped this year....?
I can't remember one......not that it would matter.

I with Chia pet would pull a move like Jimmy Bean in "Moneyball" and trade away Campbell to FORCE CJ to have to play Cunningham as the fourth line center......

I think Cunningham has look very good every game I've seen him thus far.......defiantly a faster, move skilled player than Campbell.

Was thinking as soon as Jackass Edwards mentioned it.....why is Krug out there killing a penalty?

The idea that Edmonton wants Hamilton for ANYTHING they have is so very laughable.....

Hamilton....21 years old......he is the next Weber.....7 goals, only 2 of our forwards have more goals then him.....Marchand and smith have 8......

Hamilton is easily our best defenseman this year and for many to come.

I missed the first period, any links to the hit?

Never mind, found it. It looks to me, in slow-mo that Gionta was leaning forward as Bartkowski lined him up. Not Barts fault at all. Hopefully Gionta is going to be okay.

There is a difference between not all Barts fault and not Barts fault at all. Yes it was a suicide pass to Gionta and yes his head was down, but there is a responsibility to make sure you don't hit the head. I expect a suspension.

I guess I just don't see how he could have made an adjustment in the tenth of a second it took for Gionta to reach for the errant pass. If he doesn't stretch out like he did, the hit is never mentioned.

I agree with him overall.

But he has made a lot if bad passes in the D zone AND tried stupid pitches that he got beat on.....

He may be our overall bet D man....I wouldn't argue that.....BUT.....

Seindenberg and Chara are supposed to be our SHUTDOWN D men and they haven't been that when on the ice......

Chara and Seindenberg were instrumental in us winning the Cup....they were the best shutdown pair in the NHL.

Right now they do not look strong on the puck and are getting beat to the outside AND even on the boards in the D zone.......

That's my concern....

If Dougie is our best D man for the season the we have even bigger problems than our bottom 3, 4-6 D men.
