After Patrick Roy's comments tonight, I think they have to be 100% they have confidence in Reto Berra at BACKUP before they send Pickard back to Lake Erie.

Pickard deserves to stay. In fact, if Varly struggles when he returns, would much rather (a million times over) have Pickard to pick the team up than Berra.

Bury Berra and move on, he was a mistake.

The duel for back-up in Denver seems to be over, though it is not 100% sure what Colorado will do. Just a few weeks ago, Calvin Pickard was re-assigned to Lake Erie even though he had played out of his mind for the Colorado Avalanche.

If they have a chance to make the playoffs, and they potentially do (could be 6-8 points out of a spot with LA having played more games) by the end of the year. Thats doable to make up with half of season still remaining.

But they are going to have to go with the hottest hand. 49 games left, if its Varly hes going to have to play 45 of those games. I think they send Picks down and run with Varly, however if he gets hurt again...I think they should deactivate Varly for the rest of the season (like Nsh did with Rinne last year) and just run with Picks.

That would be the most disaster thing to happen, him struggling. If that happens things could get messy having to send Berra down and replace Varly with Picks as the starter.

If he is struggling and they dont do that, they really dont care about making the playoffs this season, so the might have to keep Picks up and tell Berra to shove it back to Swiss Land
