If, and I say if, we could get Hall for Jones and a 1st (which I have no idea if that's close) I would take that and run. We could find another serviceable D-man to fill in for Jones or be the 7th D-man. To get top quality players you have to give something of high value. It would fill a need for both sides and probably in the short term help Nashville more and help Edmonton get McDavid.

You are right - you have to be willing to part with something. Both Hall & RNH are tied up at $6MM per year for several years. That's a plus for the Preds in my opinion. Considering the Preds have only one forward (Neal) tied up long term, it's a little scary that the longest term deals for any Preds forwards after Neal are...gulp...Stalberg & Nystrom.
Wilson, Smith, Beck & Jarnkrok are all RFA's this year - so I expect Poile to lock them up. But if I could see RNH centering the 1st or 2nd line...or even Taylor Hall playing LW with Neal & Forsberg - that pushes additional scoring ability down into the 2nd & 3rd lines, I think it would be worth giving up Jones, Beck & a 1st. After all, the Preds are not going to get Eichel or McDavid this year. I know Poile likes to build through the draft, but that package might be worth a top line forward.
