Living in Boston I have been to Fenway for many baseball game for 40 years. But the place is a far outdated pit. Nostalgic yeah but the place is an uncomfortable dump...A Boston/Montreal game would easily be the best the NHL could do for a match up .. I guess Gillette would be other choice?

Boston and Montreal makes the most sense but knowing the league, it will probably be Bruins and Panthers/Coyotes or something stupid like that!

Having it back in Boston is jumping the shark for the Winter Classic. Plenty of teams still haven't gotten to see their team in an outdoor game, plenty cities who could host a game who haven't; but instead the league just solidifies that it's really the east coast/original 6 classic. Instead of being a special game each year that might be in your town eventually, it's now just another game on tv feauturing two teams you don't care about unless you're one of them.

It'll probably be against Pittsburgh, since they've been in like every single outdoor game

Vs Sabres ... Count on it.
Sabres with McEichel come in and play a physical game while kicking that wussies Lucik's as$
Saw him last night get the deserved pasting into the boards for all his offensive hits.
Good for him.

1. Fenway sucks to watch anything it, baseball, concert, clouds blowing by...

2. Havard would be awesome.... but yeah, probably too small.

What about gov'e center plaza? build some seating, its central, easy subway access...

They did so many outdoor games, the whole concept has lost its luster.

Some teams wont get a shot to even be in one because they ae the black sheep of the league

Its losing its luster because its the same 8 teams that are in the games

NBC has one of the biggest voices in where and who is in these games and it revolves around ONE THING "ratings!"

Go look up the ratings for the winter classic......they are in line and in most cases higher than the Stanley Cup Finals.

And when looking at the Cup finals look to see which teams have the greatest pull......that's right it's the Hawks...Bruins....Pens......even the Rags have a ratings pull.

LA vs NJ had an average pull of 1.8 rating......two years later LA vs Rags has a 2.8 rating.......that difference is from the NY fan base.

Anaheim vs Ottawa and Carolina vs Edmanton had HORRIBLE ratings.......the NHL grows from viewers.......the marquee matchups are therefore most desirable.

The NHL has been growing over the years so they must know something about what they are doing.

So in closing.....you may not like it think it's dumb but if the ratings are there and the tickets sell......who cares if they have them.

but now its not just the winter classic, they did a whole bunch of other outdoor games last year too.
I watched some of the college games at fenway, that was pretty neat but a night game at fenway is cold.... really really cold.

Didnt say they shouldnt have them just that other teams need to be included

IMO a Blues Wild game would be hugely successful

A Blues Blue Jackets game would not be

YOu can market other teams not just Cup Champs or teams that get to the finals

Just my opinion

i know this is off topic, but its too bad the Bruins missed out on Kevin Hayes. He's looking like he's developing into a really nice player, and he's huge, something the bruins always like.

A Blue Jackets game can be against an original 6 opponent at the Horseshoe, i think that would be pretty cool.

I think the Yotes should play the panthers or the blues in and outdoor game...

Why are you throwing the blues in there? Blues have a strong fanbase unlike the panthers and Yotes.

This is your personal perspective obviously because its only natural for the league to showcase teams with larger fan bases. Not sure the Blues or teams in the middle of the pack in terms of following would generate the ratings that both NBC and the NHL desire.

That being said I would love to personally see some fresh blood in there but a Boston/Montreal winter classic has to happen. Its the greatest rivalry in hockey and they might actually produce an exciting game.

I think this stadium series is a way for the league to include these other teams like St.Louis, Minnesota and Colorado.

I wish we tried harder to get bobby ryan a couple years ago.

The guy will score 30 goals every year no matter who he plays with.

Shocked at what the bruins have become. You guys need a retool as your too good to get a good pick but not good enough to threaten for a playoff run.

When can we "pessimistic" fans OR "realists" start talking about blowing some of this team up......?

This is an OFF year with injuries, but........if there ever was a year to try to make a splash in the trade market and try to grab some picks......this is the one!

We are 18th in the NHL in point (most teams below us have games in hand),
18th in goal differential at -2,
19th in GF,
TIED FOR 11th with the WASHINGTON CAPITALS in GA ......

What I'm trying to get at is that we are WAY CLOSER to getting a top 10 pick than we are to competing for a Cup this year.

Make some trades.....grab some kids.....get some picks, this is supposed to be a DEEP draft and make a run in two years.

We are going to turn into the Van Canucks if we keep on this coarse.......
