yeah, I guess, schultzie...but after all these years, you'd think they'd have figured it out by now

I say it's why he's so streaky.

Teams forget "the book" against him while he's out of the lineup for a while, and then he gets a run where he's hot against the regular opponents in conference, then beats some west coast teams, etc.

he's gotten a bit lucky too...if not mistaken, a shot heading top-shelf went of the butt-end of his goal stick last night...wasn't the first time that happened either.

As a goalie, I can say that he meant to do that.

And they certainly know to shoot high. Sometimes it just doesn't happen for you

Watching the game with my old man when he brought up a good point that's previously been discussed.
What would be the difference in production if we had a solid line one that allowed ennis to skate against the opposing teams 2 or 3rd line?

I'm more and more impressed with ennis every game. Kid was throwing the weight around a little last night! It's early still but i see him as a player that could thrive against the weaker talent.

Also say we land just a number one center..Do we keep ennis on the wing or to 2c?

This team became a really slow team after briere and drury left, not sure why as they were not the fastest skaters on the team

less playing time for max
vanek not going all out once he moved to the first line
roy getting bar happy once he got paid
fragile tim being fragile tim
etc

the best thing for this team to add moving forward is speed and finishing touch around the net

you are seeing the rewards for ennis being allowed to fly on the wing vs being focused on a center

possler, fasching, gringo, compher will add speed down the road, but speed is an asset Murray needs to add to this team

Do we re-sign Neuvirth and Enroth? Or trade one and re-sign the other? Who gets traded?

Ennis should be the 1st line LW.
- mhp

the only other true top 3 lw'ers in the pipeline are lemieux, and big time projects carrier and possler

everything else is 4th line or ahl'ers

unless you move gringo, hurley or compher to the wing

If Girgs stays at center Compher goes to wing IMO. No room

if this team had a 35 year old lalime and a 35 year old bob essensa in net the sabres might be 0-28

Agreed. He's a top 6 player. I also see Reinhart better suited for center than wing.

I know he played wing at the WJC, but his vision alone needs to have both sides of the ice to work with

He will eventually, but I think his future is being our 5/6 guy along with Gorges
