I must be the only Preds fan that does not know where they can find hockey games not on the NHL network. NBCSports used to have games almost every night in previous years, but now seem to just have 1-2 a week now. Is there a new station that has picked up the games that I just don't know about5? And, is it on DirectTV? Thanks for any input because I miss seeing the games.

What a great year so far (other than the stinker with Edmonton where Rinne had to play the whole team basically by himself) -- it's been fun to go to games again where there is every chance the Preds will win.

On Directv, channel 646 - FSTN - carries the Preds.

I meant other NHL games than the Preds, which of course are on a Fox channel. But thanks for responding.

I don't have Direct so probably doesn't help but I wish Center Ice was available to this area for cable. I've had it once in '07 or '08 and haven't had it since we aren't in a , according to Charter, a "hockey market"

NHL Network DirecTV ch 215 and NBC SN DirecTV ch 220 have games. I haven't noticed a decline in coverage. There's usually a game on one or the other.

Preds Power Play

They need to get away from the 1-3-1 setup. They're not ready for it yet. The problem is that any slight mistake along the boards turns into a rush the other way for the shorthanded team because there's only one guy back to defend. We've already seen two shorthanded goals go in, and many, many more opportunities. It's frustrating to watch a power play that produces more chances for the other team on a consistent basis.

They need to get back to more of a 2-2-1, and for the love of GOD, put Weber back there. Why is he flicking wristers from the sideboards instead of unleashing his booming slapshot from the point? Having him on the 2nd power play unit might be a good idea for distribution of scorers, but he really should be on the first unit. Going back to a 2-2-1 would also guard more effectively against clearing attempts which only need to get past one guy right now.

The one good thing I'll say about the power play is that there's been a lot more movement lately. I'd still rather see the team get that movement in a configuration other than the 1-3-1 which leaves them exceptionally vulnerable along the boards.

It's to the point where I don't even want to see the team have the man advantage. I feel like they should just have a designated penalty taker when they get the advantage so that they can play 4 on 4. Even strength this team is really good. With the man advantage I'm terrified to watch.

I have to say that is the longest post that I've actually read. Good job.
I fear the lack of punch with the power play may be this teams death nail in the post season.

One thing I've noticed is that Lack of injuries this team has had this year. (knock on wood) Is it bc the style of play has changed? Any thoughts??

I agree and (in a way) I miss Horny. He actually stood in front of the goaly and blocked his vision. We have players that stand off to the side and wait for a rebound that doesn't come. I know it takes guts but it will work, now that we are shooting more at the net. Also we are taking a whole lot of time looking for the pretty shot . When we are 5 on 5 we just shoot, on Man Advantage, we try to be cute.........WHY?

PS... ONE PLAYER beside the goalie
