Actually Montoya was born in Chicago and grew up in the suburbs here...
he's a heck of goalie /nice move by Dale getting him.

Personally with Montoya I was surprised he never became the starter for the jets. It's nice to have a guy to hold the fort down till Lu is back. For time in a while I feel ok with playing our back up again no more Clemmer/Ellis etc...

I think he just wants to retire.

Another person on these boards that needs to take an unvaccinated trip over to West Africa. I swear to God. You're seeing the numbers go up because the team is playing exciting hockey. The team is winning. And, as we continue to do so, we'll creep into a playoff spot and more people will begin to show up. I was there last night. It SOUNDED like there was 50,000 people in that arena. It was loud as heck.

We are going to soon see a situation where the Fleischman's, Kopecky's, and Upshall's fall out of favor and are sat or traded. There is no reason Vincent Trocheck should ever wear a Rampage jersey again. There is no reason Jimmy Hayes should ever sit again. Ever.

Hayes has 10 pts; 5 goals and 5 assists, in 14 games. In 18 games Barkov has 4 pts; 2 goals and 2 assists. Trocheck has 8 pts; 1 goal and 7 assists in 12 games. Huberdeau is looking fantasitc playing with Bjugstad, but I don't think that Pirri is right on that line. I also don't know if I like Pirri as a wing. His offensive skills are starting to wean a bit. It's all about chemistry at this point. I'm wondering what would happen if Fleischman, who by the way is a +3 on the season, would gel well on that line with two guys who seems to have a pass-first mentality of late.

I don't know what it is about that arena, but the loudness of the building is really impressive. I've been in some that are like caverns, but not this one. The sound elevation on a breakaway or a hit, etc is shocking. I've heard players say the same thing over the years. As a matter of fact, in '11 vs NJ in playoffs I recall a variety of players comment. So, as the brand becomes once again relevant (win), seats get filled. Which is RULE in most markets in virtually ANY sport.

I didn't love Luongo as much some other Canuck fans, but I'm actually surprised at how well he's played so far this season.
