I'll be watching this afternoon and I really hope they show some signs of life in what is a very big divisional game.

If anyone remembers the old Saturday Night Live skit on dating sites for less than desirable dating partners, the title for that appears to be the Flyers season

Somebody other then Giroux or Voracek has to step up. And state with their play that enough is enough. With the situation the way it is, the Flyers should be a team that comes out today and plays like their life depends on it. They've had the reaming out from the GM, coach calling them out, player only meeting. It's just time to play. Show some balls and come out and fight to win.

It would be nice to get out to an early lead. Lines 2-4 must do something and I would think moves will be made if they come out of this back to back 0-2.

They should come out strong but will they?? Simmonds Read Schenn and even Cooter can contribute more secondary scoring. It can't be all G and jake. I've tried to be patient with Umby and VLC but it's starting to look like they are a combined 8 mil of dead weight. I'm sure they are frustrated, but at times its looking like they don't care. If they arent' scoring but they are laying a hard hit or skating as hard as they can two ways, I can deal with that..otherwise it's and embarrassment for them as pros. I'd consider healthy scratching both of them if this keeps up.

I am telling you Zombie must " have something" against either one of those guys.
That's the only way any sane person would still have him here
I say just buy him out and let him peruse his career on The Walking Dead

I try to not overreact when a player has a bad start to the season but the team really needs these veteran guys to start contributing in some manner here.

Mid season buy outs can't happen, but I could see it being considered this offseason. The other problem is that the org looks foolish if that happens.. gave up a popular and productive Hartnell who also brought some swagger to the team for a guy who you buy out... Not good.

they are in danger of missing the playofs twice in the past three years, this team is mediocre, its time to unattach ourselves emotionally and get to work. unless your name is Giroux, Voracek or mason, have your bags packed in case pf sudden departure, destination, unknown at this time.

I know it would look foolish but theGM has too bite the bullet and learn from his mistakes. I said it all along ...hated trade when it was made and still do!

scratch him and vinny, and if you have to eat a considerable amount of salary to move vlc then so be it, like the line in moneyball "theyre paying you NOT, to play for them" cause he's dead (frank)ing weight.

The worst thing Hextall could do, is make a reactionary trade due to how the Flyers are currently playing. He should make deal from the viewpoint of even if the team was winning and high up in the standings, would he still make a proposed deal. If the answer is yes, then make it. Otherwise, stand pat.

Before the season, I thought this was a middle of the pack, fringe playoff team. 1/4 through the season, they are an NHL bottom feeder. With the resources the Flyers have that is unacceptable. Hextall inherited a mess, but I really did not think they would be this bad.

Nationally televised game today, if they don't come out balls to the wall and they lose for the 7th time in 8 games I would expect to see something happen.

He's been quoted as saying he won't be making a deal just because the team can't get it together (paraphrased; I think it was in yesterday's thread).

These guys are gonna have to sink or swim as-is, unless the right deal presents itself.
