At this point absolutely but that doesn't mean we will trade him. What do you expect to honestly get for hickey and what are we so desperate for at this point that'd we trade a pretty good number 6 defenseman for? I can see strait getting pushed off the depth chart/waived and them holding on to Donovan as a number seven purely on his potential. If hickey went it'd have to be in a package for something potentially big bcs his importance out weighs what we would get and no I dont think hes a game changer but hes reliable for what he does and that reliability is pretty important right now.

I agree but if 1 of Pulock/Reinhart are ready later on into season and have better size and more potential, I'm sorry bro but I'd rather have them in line-up instead. Now that's just my opinion.

Anyone else throw up a little bit when Strait fell over at the start of OT? Gave me flashbacks to last season. I'm happy Hicky and de Haan are back tonight against a more competent team.

Honestly I can only see them moving Visnovsky, and then only if he’s healthy and either Pulock or Reinhart are at the point where they’re more than NHL ready. Visnovsky is on the last year of his deal and while he’s a fantastic #5 who can play on the PK, his age and injury history are a bit of a concern.

I’m not saying we should move him at all, just that if snow is looking for a draft pick and needs to make room for one of the two prospects, that’s how I’d see it likely happening. Just my guess, not basing it on anything other than that.

I can't see them trading Viz at the deadline if they are in a playoff spot and I especially don't see them calling up a Rookie and throwing him into a playoff race late in the season.

I'm in no rush with either Pulock or Reinhart. Let them dominate in the ahl for a season. There's no pressing need for them. Slow and steady with these kids IMO and I think the club will do just that unless injuries present themselves.

I think we will see a big trade at or before the deadline.

I think Viz resigns .. He likes it here enough to resign once he will do it again.

is it resigns... or Re-Signs... obviously he isn't retiring. .... how about this insted. I think Viz signs and extension before the deadline.

Yeah, that'd be a bad move to trade Viz. They'd getting little to nothing in a trade due to his age, contract and health. He's a valuable part of the team, has playoff experience as well. If he's healthy, then he's a must have in the lineup, no need to trade anyone.

I wasn't talking bout Viz, hickey.

I think they keep Viz bc of veteran presence

It's so nice to finally be in a position where that is an option!

Exactly. I know Pulock is playing great but we are finally in a position to do things the right way. Let them dominate and let bdgprt win with them. Let that start a winning culture down there which to me is a big deal. Our team right now is fine as is. Barring injuries there's no reason for these kids to come up. I don't see the rush?

We are 9-1 in our last ten. Third in the conference and tied for first in our division. If that changes or there's a long term injury we can revisit this but to me now it makes no sense unless theres a clear cut way to improve our roster which I don't see a Thomas hickey, strait, or Donovan trade doing for us.

Don't see Viz back next year, he's old with injury problems and one of Reinhart and Pulock are going to be ready. Unless he wants to take a major salary cut and be a 7th dman I don't see it. (Assuming Boychuck and leddy are back)

I would bring him back for about 3 million for a year.

Exactly what I was thinking. Make the kids learn the game down there and get through the kinks and any mistakes to improve their game. Eventually they will be up whether it's this year or next year.

I probably would bring him back on that contract too but I'n not sure there will be room for him on the roster, from what it sounds like Pulock is developing very nicely. Next year could look like this (assuming Boychuck wants to sign):
Leddy Boychuck
de hann Hamonic
Hickey/Reinhart pulock

Really hoping boychuck sticks with us. Guy is exactly what we have needed. This is going to be his last big pay day if he keeps playing like this we are going to have to pony up.
