They've played like 3 more games then anyone else that's why they're in first. But they still deserve some more love.

True - but that also means they had a tough time with scheduling. 8 games in their last 13 and they only lost 3 of 'em.

Either way there is an argument for allof those teams to be up there - although i think with the win against the blues the Habs probably shoulda leap frogged them.

Wait until Boston gets healthy again. They'll pop up on the rankings. Not too shabby a record playing on average 5 rookies each game and 2-3 second year players.

Maybe it's because they look bad after getting shutout by the rags

How many wins/loses you boys got against western teams as opposed to the eastern conference?

Strength of opponents also plays a big part. Still feels a lot like smoke, mirrors and riding their goaltender. Montreal to me, reminds me of that great start the wild had, then they collapsed and missed the playoffs. No disrespect intended, but the Habs don't impress me.

And you think the NYI, TB, and the Preds are?

Yeah, you are probably right. Out of the 5 teams chosen, each blogger pick 3 eastern teams and 2 western teams (even though most pundits agree that most western teams are superior).

not bashing the canucks because I've seen alot of their games this year and they've been good, but you guys have played the oilers 4 times already. Isles are 6-3 vs the west and have beaten the pens back to back, lightning, bruins, ducks, kings...we haven't had a game against buffalo, columbus or the oilers yet. I'd give the Isles the edge over the Canucks but that's a slight edge as both look to be very good teams this year.

In terms of the powerhouse Western teams:
ANA: Two shootouts/ties
CHI: Beat them
LA: Got their asses kicked
SJ: Beat them
STL: Beat them

Lost to TB and beat MTL.

hey I'm not bashing you guys, the canucks are playing well and winning games they should be winning, but based on strength of schedule...we haven't had 4 games against the oilers No disrespect intended, but i think we've had a harder schedule overall and a point behind with a game in hand.

it's kinda nice this year to be going back and forth with a canucks fan over how well each of our teams are doing though. Little different from last year.

Agree, if they can get healthy a little, this is a top team.

I would also agree boston is better than they've shown, but looking at the habs, +4 goal differential 10 games over 500? That speaks to a lot of one goal wins and a lot of blow out losses. Still don't think they're as good as their record is.
