Get. Over. It. - blacksheep1
When someone gives his all for a franchise for 14 years, brings said franchise a lot of success, leaves, and then comes back for the first time... it's going to be a storyline. |

Yes I know. It happened with Rick Nash. Same thing happened with him. Franchise made a promise it couldn't keep. Same thing Yzerman and MSL. Get over it. |

Lightning didn't make any promise it couldn't keep.
If I wrote this blog without mentioning that he's back in town, and without mentioning all he did for the franchise, I wouldn't be doing my job. It's not about getting/being over anything. |

Marty St. Louis has seven goals and four assists in 11 games in November.
The Rangers game notes said that Marty is tied for second in the league in goals since November 3rd and sixth in points. |

Hopefully. Competitive is always more fun. And the atmosphere in the building will almost certainly add to it all. |

Here's a question. Marty gets two points for 1000 in his career... Does he get an ovation? |

I think people will cheer on the scoreboard thank you for the years marty! But when the game starts they will boo him every time he touches the puck. |

I really don't understand why any TB fans would dislike MSL. I mean that as a sincere statement.
The guy was an absolutely amazing player for over a decade in a Bolts uniform. He was a regular all star and by all counts that I had ever seen a great guy to both his teammates and the fans.
I understand being disappointed that he wanted to leave and I'm not privy to his personal reasons whether it be family, Yzerman, etc. But why does it matter?
The guy represented the game and his team well for over 13 years and then asked his GM privately to be traded at a time when he could easily be moved for quality return value. It's not like he pulled a Kovalchuk and left the team high and dry with no options negatively impacting them for years to come.
I just get the impression that a lot of fans have their butts hurt because they feel some self entitlement that MSL owes them his entire playing career for reasons that I cannot comprehend. Messier left NY. Bourque left Boston. Blake left LA. Hasek left Buffalo. I don't recall anyone hating these guys for it. Maybe someone can explain it to me. |

I can't speak for anyone else , but Marty quit on a team who had an average age of 12 in the middle of a playoff push , he was a captain on an extremely young team and quit on them .
You can't wait until the end of the year , Marty ?
And then the whole episode of no answer why he did it . And then getting to New York and talking about cups and winning and big hockey markets !!
He got to New York and completely dissed Tampa fans . Now don't telle " what is he suppose to say I still love the lightning?" No , but you can move on to a new franchise without disrespecting your old one
Whatever his reasons are , I don't care .. When you just up and quit on a team who is relying on you because you might be a little hurt from te canada or u want to move ur family to New York I don't care what it is , you're a baby
Wait until the season is over, and at least give an explanation . You want Tampa fans to respect you ? For quitting a team when it needed you the most and for giving you the chance you needed to make a name for yourself in the NHL? Then leave with a little more respect and explanation than that . |

But he left is at the wrong time it's not like we were in last place in fact we were higher in the standings then the Rangers were. It's the way he left I think if he waited till the summer and asked to be traded tampa fans would have been fine with that.

If yzerman puts him on that team in Russia I think he would still be on the lightning right now! All tampa fans know marty left because of yzerman! |

That's pathetic, really pathetic, anyone who can't get past the trade and who erased 14 years of 100% effort are just bandwagon fans |
