DERP is appropriate. who wants to watch skilled hockey with hard hitting legal hits designed to seperate a player from the puck, not to injure. Theres a good sport out there for you though... NASCAR people actually die sometimes... right up your alley it seems
- ChrisMS

Boychuk pinched to contribute offensively and then turned around the second the Pens got legitimate possession of the puck. In the process, Boychuk and Malkin got tangled up with Malkin receiving the worst of it due to Boychuk's momentum. Suspension? Yea right.

I like the line combos:

Kunitz-Crosby-Hornqvist
Bennett-Malkin-Sutter
Comeau-Goc-Downie
Megna-Spaling-Adams

Only thing is that it takes Sutter out of the faceoff dot and I really want to see Geno and Hornqvist mesh well together...and they were showing signs of that last night.

On the contrary, would be happy to get Sid going again...he had no shots last night.

If thats a suspension then four of downies hits on boychuck earlier certainly are as well. Purposely going after his injured leg. After watching the replay again what are you suspending him for exactly? It wasnt a knee on knee it was more like a crotch on crotch

Really surprised they didn't/couldn't find a way to retain Jokinen.

Not a chance... No chance whatsoever that that wasn't deliberate. If it was even close I'd understand... But no

I dont see it either? If thats suspension worthy than this league is in a lot of trouble. Malkin put the dramatics on right after and the fools who always fall for it more so them the refs are the home fans. Didnt even make contact with his knee. He could got a penalty for a cross check but so could have crosby a half dozen times through out the night. Most of all when he cross checked nelson four times in the ribs right in front of the ref. Squeaky clean crosby strikes again. Im sure your little darlings will get the benefits of the whistles tonight after losing last night.

Eh. Suspend downie to then. Take him for the whole season. Pens got rid of Neal then brought in that clown. Its irrelevant to the boychuck hit... Obviously targeting malkins leg.

Crosby is going to be flying tonight. Only chance we have is getting him off his game by getting in his face. Going to be tough to match the pens intensity without taking penalties.

I honestly dont see it as suspension worthy. I think once you cool down you wont either. If he wanted to get his knee he could have and he didnt. Not like that was a fast play and he had to react quick.

No positioning? He tried to pinch and almost got beat so he turned to play the body. Theres zero intent there. Im sure johnston will have downie out there for his pairing tonight which is ok. Clutter and martin will match up just fine.

I'm actually not worked up about the shot. I am worked up by derp and the attitude that wanting cheap shots dealt with harshly is somehow a bad thing. The fact it wasn't a fast play is why that was a cheap shot. He had time to choose to not stock his leg out. Had Malkin been hurt we'd be looking at a suspension. And NHL would be punishing the result not the action. That has to change.

Pitt fans are still trying to gather up enough evidence to convict Staal of attempted murder on Crosby from last season.

Don't feed the trolls. There is absolutely nothing good to come from that. Let him type his garbage out and then move on. He provides nothing of any substance and is obviously just trying to stir poop up to start arguments. Don't feed him.

I agree but I dont see how malkin gets injured on that play? Theres no knee on knee. Its more likrle crotch on crotch. You say theres no positioning but thats exactly what that play was all about him trying to turn around to play the body after getting caught pinching. I dont see it as a "cheap shot" if i did id have no prob with a suspension. We will agree to disagree. Hopefully the game doesn't get out of hand tonight. Home crowd will be raucous.

Crotch on crotch knee on knee ankle on ankle doesn't matter. Stuck his leg out behind the play. Agree to disagree.

Really? Go re-read both blogs from that game. Lots of Ranger fans whining even after Girardi said it was clean. Also find all the comments about the dirty head hunting Penguins followed closely by posts about how they hope that someone injures Crosby.

I like the line combos, and like you mentioned Malkin can slide to the right which is what I would prefer. Keep Sutters hot hand at the dot and feed a constant barrage of setups to Malkin. He's just over 2 shots per game but over 14 percent shooting, about the same as his 50 goal season. Until Malkin starts shooting more I'd keep him on that wing.
