Tough sleddin these days. Pretty frustrating to watch because I thought they actually played one of their stronger games. Whatever they changed in the defensive zone has looked pretty good these past few games. Just too man guys aren't scoring.

Briere who is buried down the depth chart and healthy scratched has more goals than Iginla and ROR.

I agree with Fols, I thought that was one of the Avs better games this year, which makes it frustrating. The key is, can they string together a few performances in a row (at least gotta start somewhere) where they aren't getting destroyed at evens.

Berra scares the hell out of me. Too much uneccessary movement, rarely looks set. If Varly is out for an extended time, I'm not opposed to seeing more of Pickard. His AHL numbers this year look more like his 2012-13 numbers which is nice to see.

Lastly, I think Mitchell is a nice 3C, but this having him at 2C experiment needs to end.

I still have the avs making the playoffs. They are a much better team than what they have been showing. Sure, they do need to make a couple of changes to their roster, but I think the second half will look much different than the first.

MacDavid would make this all worthwhile, but I don't think we can be that bad...can we?

I dunno we do look that bad right now, especially if Tangs it out for a long period of time. But I feel like a lot of these games will be swept under the rug based on injury excuses....Mitchell, McGinn, Tangs, Varly, Winchester, Stuart for long periods of time. Really not the reason for the terrible play but I see that being the Scape goat this seaon in Roys Pressers eventually

AVS management rewarded to many guys on this team who had never played a single game wearing the AVS jersey (Iginla, Stuart) and gave to many extensions to guys who had 1 good year and only year in the NHL (holden/guenin)....I understand you sometimes have to overpay for UFA to sway them to come over...but honestly, was there a line up for Iginla's services???
and extending Stuart...why? he had yet to prove his worth ! ! If and when they can shed these salaries, they must get back to their plan (youth with skill) let the kids grow and learn together ( you know like the Nords/Avs of the late 90's, to which Sakic was a part of...holy short memories batman)

they have had glimmers of playing well and looking like a competitive team, just 20 games in and its too often of lack luster periods of play, beating themselves with poor play.

Its not looking good, crazy things can happen, but this team is struggling in every department right now.

I wouldn't mind one bit if they shipped Stuart out with ROR if they were to draft McDavid or Eichel. Actually, I'd be pretty tempted to start a petition for that if things play out that way.

I think we are stuck with Stuart, but if the put him on the 3rd pairing...I can live with that.

Ship out Holden so he isn't tempted to put him in the Top 4 anymore. our Left Hand side of our pairings is a mess right now having those 2 signed long term

I agree, they'll scapegoat the injuries much like they did to explain the playoff loss to the Wild. Its too bad really, I hope that internally they are looking back at the las 6 months and saying "we (frank)ing got it wrong, we drank our own kool-aid when we should have addressed the significant problems on this team." But I'm skeptical, I still think they actually beleive those excuses are legit.
