if we could manage 1-1-1 over the next 3 games I'd find it acceptable, but 2-1 would be really nice over three very difficult games.

These are the games they have to win. The other teams in the metro division are slumping. You know one of those teams are going to get hot so, take advantage now. It would be nice to win tonight and win one against Pitts. Lets go Isles!!!!! 4-2 Isles

It would be nice to win, but given how poorly we did last year, I'd be happy to see us in second in the Metro. I don't see us finishing ahead of Pittsburgh and Tampa is extremely tough. I'll just try and enjoy the games and hopefully these next few aren't a new losing streak.

JT needs to step it up. He's kind of looking a little lost out there. Trying to get too fancy or find too fine a passing lane on the PP. Maybe a 2 goal game tonight would help him out a bit. Yeah, I know, he's over a point a game thus far. Just don't think he's looked "there" the past couple games, imo. If they play their game, they can beat Tampa Bay. Tampa looked a little shaky a times last night, Rags just didn't capitalize on the opportunities. Bishop looked pretty solid though. Pittsburgh is definitely beatable. 2-1, 3-0 not out of the realm.

Agreed. I want us to win like anyone else but to me as.long as they compete im cool with it. With that said, they have to win the next three games or they suck.

Nabby should be in net for TB, so if we lose to him, it can turn into a bad week.....

We all want to see them win (except maybe stashu). We know they're going to lose some as well. I would concur that if they lose 1 and compete, i'm ok with that. It's lackluster efforts & coaching mistakes that make some losses hard to take.

For me, I keep looking at our division and thinking now is the time to pull away from the rest of the struggling teams. While they're all losing games we need to get some wins and pad the lead as much as possible. We've been reasonably healthy and at some point we'll be hit by injuries, gotta make hay now.

Absolutely! Skate hard, play responsible positional defense (don't chase the puck), backcheck, solid goaltending (doesn't even need to be stellar), and they'll win a lot of games. Just look at the last winning streak for the most part. Just gotta put the sword through the throat when you get the chance.

#4789 on the list of things to really worry about with the New York Islanders.

Yes, more scoring is always helpful but the guy will suddenly put up 4 points, a few games in a row. Luckily, we have more help this year on offense, notably Nelson with nods to Strome, Grabo, Fransy & Kuli, plus our defense will surpass their last years' total by January.

Johnny's developing each season as the leader of this club and his only fault may be that he tries to do too much sometimes and maybe he's getting away from "his game" a bit.
Cappy also has been stupidly pairing up right-handed shooters(like Vis & KO) on the wrong sides during the PP and it making it awkward to pass, resulting in many flubbed & broken plays. I also hate the way Cappy seems to have brainwashed Strome into believing that the ONLY way he'll have success at the NHL level is if he plays CAPYY's SYSTEM to a "T." RUFKM?

Fire Cappy. (#1 thing to worry about)

I'm not laying any losses on JT, and yes, he's always developing & working on his game. Just saying the last 2 or 3 games he's looked a bit off. Hey, it could just be a couple off games. Not concerned that he'd go into the tank or anything. Cappy ALWAYS has his finger on the time to screw it up button. Want him gone just like most everyone else, but it's a little difficult to fire a coach that's winning (despite his best efforts to lose some of them). I'd be ok with keeping him if they end up 1st or 2nd in the division & make a deep playoff run. No more one and done.

Absofrankinlutely.

Montreal, Pitt & Boston are all the real deal and not going anywhere. Consider them playoff locks. Maybe Tampa too. That leaves probably 4 playoff spots up for grabs between 12 teams and the pack is already clogged up. Conference games are huge. Blown leads also cost alot—even if we don't lose in OT/SO— can't be giving points away.

P.A. Parenteau did it twice from the pressbox. And once from the Men's room after some bad buffalo wings.

Puhlease, the Isles suck and Buffalo is gonna get an amazing lottery pick when they crash and burn the rest of the season!!!!!!!

Is that how it goes?
