I'm hoping for a Mathieu Schneider-like scenario.

But it'll probably turn out like Brière in Colorado.

so I imagine that on even-strenght its gonna be:

Markov-Subban
Emelin-Gilbert
Gonchar-Weaver

(Tinordi and Beaulieu playing big minutes in Hamilton but rotating on call ups to play games in MTL when injuries occur until they become regulars next season)

EDIT: Anyone knows if Gonchar can play RD ?

Is Emelin expected to bring all the grit on the back end. Tinordi seems to be the logical choice to stay.

I think that Bergevin is not done. Tinordi, Beaulieu or Emelin might be on the move.

Habs generate the 2nd least PP opps but they need to bring in this soft PP specialist to help get it going?

We absolutely needed a top 4 defense man, but 40 tears old ? As long as our goals against go down it is a good trade. We were top heavy with 4th liners anyway, so I feel it was a great trade, even if Conchar can play at 80% of what he used to play at.

Was thinking the same thing but Tinordi can't play on the right side.... and i can't imagine the Habs trading Emelin, he is too valuable to the team.
They might just rotate the last 2 D spots between Gonchar, Weaver, Tinordi and Beaulieu along the season

that (frank)er scored a nice goal last night but he was horrible in his own end a bunch of times. one time directly leading to a goal against.

My guess is Beaulieu, but who knows?

i just don't think Gonchar is needed. i don't think the PP is most glaring issue on this team. i think overall defence is, and i think the best way to overcome that is by living through the growing pains of Beaulieu and Tinordi. we're 15 games into the season. there's no possible way the team could have made proper judgment calls on Beaulieu/Tinordi at this point. and i think that's why people don't like this deal. Travis Moen? who really gives a poop? ya, i know, he's signed next year. at a whopping $1.8 million.

as for you PP line ups, i can get behind them. only change i'd made is having Plekanec/Subban out as the first wave. because clearly, DD as the first wave does not work.

They retained 8% of his salary in Dallas. Coincidentally, that's his career shooting % (if you round up).

If he can play RD effectivly then maybe the last pairing will be:
Tinordi-Gonchar

I would not trade Emelin either. Weaver is not coming out of the line-up. They need him on the PK. If Gonchar fixes the PP, he will not be coming out of the line-up. These kids need to play.
