Everyone loves to bash us for some reason, I love this city and our at times mediocre teams. I think mcdavid is the key for people taking us seriously.

*shrugs*

I'll say it now, I'm not so sure they'll get him...the #1 pick may go to a team could use a boost, especially a "good Canadian team" that's "doing it right"...Winnipeg would be a place like that

i have no problem with losing (obviously, as i'm a flames fan). i think the sabres are a great organization, have great fans, a great owner, a rich history (and yes, i cared about the crease goal and thought you guys got screwed), but i haven't seen a team this pathetic in a while. the thing is, even without miller and ott to start the year, i thought you guys would be competitive. probably not 10th-11th in the east competitive, but not like this.

i'm not going to say the flames are doing anything right yet, as it's still early, but i was damn proud of them last year, and proud to be a fan of the organization and the team that finished the 4th worst in the league. this year, i'm proud again, even though i'm pretty sure this hot start won't last. again, i think the sabres have a great organization, i'm just not sure how anyone could be proud of the team, even if it gets them mcdavid. i hope you guys find it in another way then putting it all on an 18 year old.

During the aforementioned 10-year span, the Sabres were a mediocre team on a treadmill to nowhere--too good for a high pick, not good enough for the playoffs. Were they ever mentioned as a team deserved of a top pick in the draft based upon their noble run to 9th place? Nope. Did the hockey world care? Maybe to the point where they got sick of talking about he Sabres as a bubble playoff team year-in, year-out. Other than that? Nope

this is the oilers from 2000-2010

The statement the team made by dismantling "the core" is that the previous course wasn't working and that they needed a different approach. Plain and simple.

the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting results.

They are trying, but fact is they won't even be close to a top-20 finish this season much less be caught dead on a noble ride to 9th place. They don't have the horses to even think of something like that

the players don't want to lose. at all.

apparently its not enough to go through bottom feeding. your integrity needs to be questioned too

fair enough. i just think a lack of talent doesn't give an excuse for a lack of heart or effort. admittedly i haven't watched every sabres game this year, but i've seen a few, and those definitely weren't there.

It's definitely hard to find. There are only a few players that show up game in and game out.

Personally I hate the situation and I could not be more upset with this team and how we ended up in this position. I did not sign up for this. There plenty of sabres fans that did not want this to happen. I dont believe this is the best way to go about things. There is absolutely nothing I can do at this point as a fan other than pray that all of our prospects work out because frankly we are F*%*&# if they do not. despite all of the ownership/GM/coaching/personnel changes that have happened over the past few years, I do not have a ton of faith in this organization. That being said I will continue to be as cautiously optomistic as I possibly can while their plan unfolds.

I really thought the Sabres would be around 5th from the bottom. Gionta, Georges. No way they see McDavid/Eichel. Boy was I wrong.

It's amazing how people think we are tanking. A rebuild doesn't happen overnight. We are just this bad. Teams like Colorado and Columbus seem to be the ones tanking.

Gionta? The guy stinks. Basically a Leino for Gionta trade IMO. Of course he's a leader and everything but he will have the same type of difficulties that Leino had offensively. Gorges was the only good defenseman we added. But with the subtraction of Ehrhoff that just doesn't make us better then before. Ehrhoff is the better all around talent.

Ehrhoff didn't want to be here. He wasn't a solution anyway.

In 2 years Gorges as our 4th defensemen will be valuable

If you say so. Currently we are in need of offense. Gorges supplies virtually zero. I like Gorges better then Ehrhoff but that doesn't change the fact that Ehrhoff is the better ALL AROUND TALENT. Gorges takes the cake in the defense aspect guaranteed. But Ehrhoff is pretty solid on offense and defense making Christian the better all around guy.
