I don't think ANY goaltender should be signed long term. It NEVER works out

It's not like he hasn't gotten his chances in the past!
A definite NO!! To many younger, cheaper goalies that, worst comes to worst, will be just as good but have potential to be better.

With the offensive juggernaut that they are, they don't need Lunkdvist type goaltending, they need good D and a little above average goalie yet not a superstar goalie to win the Cup again...

If he returns, it comes with a pay cut. 3 year deal at a max. I would like to see Griess make some starts. Why sign him if zatkoff was already in the fold?? There's discussion that he's ready to be a starting goalie, so let's see what he can do. Griess' stats are comparable to Fleurys. Yes, MAF has a cup but that was an eternity ago.

Extremely classy act by the Penguins organization to play O Canada last night. As a Canadian and member of the Canadian Armed Forces, I really appreciated the gesture. Cheers!

But trading away a 1st round pick for one and then exiting the playoffs early always does.

Fleury carry the team to playoffs when Crosby and Malkin were injured long term at the same time... Just saying you bunch of wanna be smart negative inspectors.

Old man Ruth likes gamesmanship. He probably wants Fleury to feel some level of comfort. I can't see a scenario besides bringing back the cup that merits him being resigned. There's no value there anymore.

Greiss could have a 50 shot shutout and score a goal himself and he still wont get a look at starter, because he isn't one.

No. Enough is enough. I like him but he is a nervous Nellie who makes everyone else nervous on the ice and in the stands. No, just no.

Tanner is good! Lot of great stuff and he really thinks out of the box. Each to their own but I enjoy most of his blogs. Feel fortunate we have a dedicated blogger like him. Some teams do not exist on HB.
As for Fleury, trade him to San Jose for Niemi, both guys just need a change of scenery. Cap issues, see what Greiss can do.

I thought about the trade for Niemi too but, if you were in SJ's shoes, I think you would want something else for Niemi...

You just noticed? My god everything he writes is painful to read, it's easy to mock but we all started out knowing nothing about hockey, and he gets Paid? Or something lmao.

I'd be pretty insulted here if I wasn't also confident that there is no way you understood what my post was saying. Maybe if you're good, when he gets home from work your Dad will explain it to you.

I don't have the exact stats but I'm extremely confident that only 1 out of 10 readers actually think you know what you're talking about or even like it to begin with. Since we're going this way oel and Yandle are overrated and neither are going to win a Norris (lmao) on that bum team. You're not getting Kane or buff like you fantasized about in your blog thinking the jets would trade for bums from your team and no you won't be making it to the playoffs unless you scrape by with a few lower points from overtime.

Really? You don't have the exact stats? Shame. Oh well. Have fun anyways, I wish you all the luck in flaming strangers on hockey sites in the future.
