Well played game by pretty much everyone, but the Flyers defense is horrible. Kane out muscled Grossman on one of his tap-ins, and they got schooled by a rookie, fresh from college, defense man joining the rush on Bickell's 3 on 2 goal.

The next 2 games should be interesting, but I'll take 90% of the possible points for now.

The PP finally looks like it showed up, and the team played a fine 60 minute game. Like you said JJ, against a poor team. If the boys keep it up, this season should be fun.

And props to Bickell for playing a strong game. He's off my trading block - for now.

That third line of bicksy manchild and richards were fun to watch. Some old time hockey from those boys. Go Hawks!

Prety solid effort all around, but remember that Flyers team is misnamed...it doesn't have the speed to play at a fast pace.

Gotta love Rozsival's strong performance too.

and TvR is looking like a strong rookie of the year candidate...if they actually gave the award fot more than point totals.

Couldn't agree more. In 2013 Crawford and Emery split a good percentage of the season and it helped keep Corey fresh for the playoffs.

The fact that people are trying to replace a cup winning goalie (who hasn't lost this season) with a second year guy who got destroyed down the stretch last year as a backup is ludicrous to me.

A lot of the Crawford stuff comes from the fact that he's a positional goaltender. He's big, looks slow, and uses his size/positioning more so than athleticism to make saves. It's not necessarily the most exciting to watch.

Raanta, on the other hand, is less polished and makes the more acrobatic/fun to watch saves. He still has plenty of work to do though (his rebound control is less than stellar).

I'm not the biggest Craw fan, but the kid paid his dues with the organization, has put up solid numbers, and won a cup. Not sure that makes him 6 million dollars good, but that seems to be the going rate on goaltenders these days.

Will get a chance to watch Raanta again tomorrow in Music City. Crawford not even traveling to Nashville.

Yeah looks like Crawford wont be playing against the Preds or the Blues. And as of now he's questionable for Sunday against Ottawa.

Well said and without Crawford we may have started 0-3. Team had some jump last night. Philly may be a lousy team or the Hawks made them look lousy. I struggle to distinguish between the difference many nights. Should know more after two road games against a more confident Preds squad under a new coach and the always physical Blues. Bickel is out of my dog house but his name is still on the front door.

Tor- Ott game canceled due to the shooting at Parliment. Hearts out to Ott and the soldier killed there.

goalie controversy...really? I can't believe some Hawks fans...first it's Niemi is the greatest ever....then it is trade Kane for Myers or Miller....and now this? It was one game against a mediocre team....Crow is the way to go, and unless he has a Huet meltdown as JJ put it this is a non issue

Rozy looked good, as did TVR...and the D's minutes were great, Keith only played 21...great team effort last night and hope to see some more vs the Preds,Blues and Sens in the next few days...Hope Saad on the third line pays off for them because both Bickell and Richards looked better as well

Slow. Down. There.

And get a grip. Raanta was solid and he has the right attitude. Plus the way Q runs the show, entitlement class behavior will not be tolerated. Especially the way its rampant in the NFL and NBA. Speaking of NFL, can you just see the Bears imploding, like in slow motion?

Rozy looked good partially because the Flyers don't have that much team speed that would expose his relative lack thereof. He doesn't win many races to pucks.

I'm pretty sure anyone who said it after last night was being sarcastic sans red font.

We're all familiar with both netminders and their game and Crow is still this team's go-to man.

Agreed...but not every team in the NHL has great team speed either...and I don't expect Rozy to win any foot races, it's his patience with the puck and his smarts that make him valuable, not at that contract value, but what's done is done..and it is good to have him back there with a young guy like TVR...let's hope he can keep this up vs the 3 teams coming up

Agree completely...

...it's absurd that it's being discussed.

It wasn't here that I saw the comments...not saying people here were not saying that, I was just going with what I saw on twitter and other places...And yes, Crow should be the #1 and still is...He didn't have the greatest of playoff performances last year, but I'm sure he has it in him to prove everyone wrong, and am sure he worked this summer to get better....also there has to be a reason Jimmy Waite was brought in to be the goalie coach and Weeks being removed after only one year...I can't believe no one ever made more news of that

JJ,Al,Wiz,6628... you ever hear anything that Crow or Raanta or Q weren't too happy with Weeks?

I just wanted to wish our Canadien brothers well and hope that they are staying safe. Our thoughts are with the RCMP, the family and friends of the fallen soldier and all of those affected on this sad day.

I would say its pretty evident by the fact he was gone after a year.

Was thinking more along the lines that maybe Crow wasn't happy with him and called for a change...after all he had his best playoff performance the year before with Waite as his goalie coach.....Just wanted to see if someone specifically called for his exodus or was it more of a group thing

It just goes on and on and on....Crawford not this...Crawford not that...

All he does is win and come up big when needed...

Goals in regulation so far: 2, 2, 1, 1 He is the reason they got those pts in 3 of those games!!

For the $$'s and peformance I will take Craw over the goalie "expert" darlings of Rask, Quick, Price....
