The Preds played a sloppy game last night & managed to escape with 2 points. It is indeed a good sign that the team can pull off a win without playing its best. And there were some positives for the Preds (Ellis, anyone?).
But the powerplay remained dismal, as did the faceoff performances for Jokinen & Jarnkrok - woof. I was a little concerned that the Preds got so out-played in the 3rd period. But they stood firm at the end of regulation & OT.
Here's hoping they can figure out some chemistry on the PP, and that they don't come out flat against the Blackhawks on Thursday. If they do struggle on the PP or play messy hockey - the points streak may well be history!

I honestly didn't expect this team to really start clicking until late November. They're getting points now when they're not playing their best hockey. Imagine what this might turn into once the team has had time to gel, the lines are set and the power play starts producing.
Even if this thing ends up going down the drain by the end of the season, I'm already enjoying the games a whole lot more. I feel like my entertainment dollars are well spent. Right now, I'm a pretty happy camper.
