Getting past the opening season euphoria and opposing teams playing an Isles team of unknowns, they are now better scouted by the opposition and playing in real competition. Instead of breaking down the video, watch the video of the NJD-NYR game and see how two experienced vet teams battle head to head. It took the Isles most of last season to find their game, hopefully they will do it sooner this team. If the coaches are standing behind the bench just looking exasperated and telling them to play "hodder" then something is wrong. They need to figure out their own players strengths and weaknesses.
Watching the Isles I see a lot of long passes and attempts at fancy setups which experienced teams can easily counter. I don't see the ability to play with each other and pass and move in tight traffic which is what you see in NJD-NYR game. |

Losing their coach would be the best thing that has happened to this team since dipietro got bought out. Time for a complete overhaul of the coaching staff from bdgpt on up. Time to get these losers out. |

Funny no mention at all about your goalie being awful. I think this was a fairly even game except that halak gave up 4 goals on 10 shots all on the blocker side. His weakness was exposed. |

From what tavares said it sounds like in addition to poor goaltending a lot of the players especially young ones took the night off and got complacent from the hot start. But hey, its all the coach's fault
Eventually the personnel has to be at fault....but before that halaks poor play was a result of the coach's bad system over anything else and the players not giving a crap is because cappy sucks at motivational speeches. |

Again. When you say our coach is incompetent its appropriate but when an actual fan does its not? |

Islanders should try Kulemin on the top line for a couple of games. They looked too good out there with him in the 3rd. |

A few things.
1) Tavares is an absolute beast , I love watching this kid play
not sure if it is this year but one year I believe he will win the scoring title.
( sidenote Kadri must of been smoking some of Mayor Ford's crack if he thinks he is even close to being in the same league as Tavares)
2) I didn't realize what a dirty piece of crap Clutterbuck is , my god late hits , the chirping , refusing to fight ? its like hes Darcy Tucker in an Islander Jersey!
3) It's refreshing to see that after a couple of losses they want to run the coach out of town in New York . I thought it was only a Toronto thing ! |

Isnt it the coaches job to install the system and to make sure the players are ready/prepared for every game?
Seems like a coaching thing to me.
Ill admit though, i watch 1 maybe two Islanders games a season so i dont know whats going on.
Goalie has to be better. I remember when Boston "exposed" Corey Crawfords glove hand...that turned out ok. Every goalie has weaknesses |

anders lee needs to be called up to play there. similar style, better hands. Kulemin has been good for us, but lacks the finish Lee brings.

Especially when you're the rested team, some nights you can win on pump and bavado; but sometimes you need to be able to play even with a team and match them shift after shift. I saw Toronto do that after NYI took the early lead and experienced players like Kessell took the lead. This is the way hockey is played at the NHL level. With the Isles I saw them constantly winding up to take shots or essentially tell the goalie what's coming. Speed of execution and making set plays are important but playing man to man in tight traffic also takes hard work, skill and experience. Toronto looks like the same team that won at MSG last week and will definitely challenge in the Conference, especially with Bernier playing at a high level. |

Conacher must go, he is useless! Bring up Lee and put some beef on the first line. |

He's fast and kind of grity but he has zero assist after SIX games with JOHN TAVARES and KO. He scored a goal in preseason and Cappy just assumed he would be P.A. part II. He is just too small to play with the top line. He can't go into any of the "dirty" areas where JT loves to cycle in and out of. I feel like every time that line looses the puck it's off of Conacher's stick. |
