Dan Spiegel: Would You Make These Line Changes?

Pirri is only in cause Bolland is still hurt. GG won't sit Bolland at 5 mil, guarantee. Hayes goes back to the bench cause Thorton is back, another asinine move from GG.
Someone needs to tell DT were are not making the playoff and so let these kids play and not waste another year when fleishman, bergenheim, kopecty and upshall(all ufa's) are gone.
Here's a better reason why we can't score. #1 center Barkov has 5 shots on goal in 5 games. #2 center bjustad has 10 shots in 5 games and both have 0 points.
On defense Robak can't get in the game and DT refuses to send him down because he's afraid he might get claimed off waivers, so he sits in the press box. How can you not get in the game so far but the organization thinks he good enough to nor rick waivers? Go figure that one out. God forbid he plays and maybe scores a goal.

I still do not agree that we don't sit Bolland, especially if Pirri is playing well/scoring. Also, if we play Robak, who do you sit? Everyone on defense is playing very well right now.

As far as the lines, I like them. This is how we have to line up. I said since day that Bergenheim was the better Fin to put with Barkov, time for them to show it. Huberdeau and Bjugstad play SO well together. Excited to drop the puck tonight.

Also.. I wouldn't write us off. We have really only had one bad game... really a bad two periods. We went toe-to-toe against Tampa, played well against a boring Sens team, and shut down the high-powered Caps. A string of wins right now and we're in the mix.

The problem I have is guys like Pirri and Hayes only got into the lineup because. Others were hurt. Who knows how Robak can be, but looks like he's gotta also wait til there's an injury

Or if someone plays bad. If Olsen has a bad game, I see Robak filling in. I think if Pirri clicks and gets Jokinen and Flash going, he'll stay. Maybe Thornton sits and Bolland gets moved somewhere via sitting him. Who knows? This is a good problem to have. We finally have capable players who can help and we don't have to mess up our development in order to do it.

I can't believe you are complaining about depth. You do know we're talking about the Panthers, right? This is an awesome problem to have.

Something is brewing with this team and once we figure it out a little better on the PK and PP, Watch out league! Bjugstad has been dormant on offense... thats a scary thought for our competitors! We will be nasty in a matter of months if we keep gelling at this rate! Exciting stuff is definitely possible with team in a short time span!

yeah no you wont, you beat a terrible Avs team on a soft overtime call (but the 5-3 call was soft too). I wouldnt put too much stock into this win, the Avs are that bad

Oh stop stop stop. I again point out we stopped Stamkos and Ovechkin when we played Tampa and Washington. We should have won those games. This team is young and it will gel. You guys have five times our talent and blew it even WITH the officials help. Go away. Usually you're a nice guy but today I see you're just going to be a grouch.

Wow and I thought some of our fan base were a bunch of Chicken Little's. How fast things changed in a matter of a year. Regardless of what you think the Panthers only problem, sans the home opener 1st period, is scoring. What we thought would be our biggest crutch this year has actually been our best part of the team and that is the defense. Now if they can form some chemistry on offense, and yesterday seemed like a good start, this team seems to be able to play with the good teams.

Yea but what y'all obviously don't understand about sports is that wins like that are huge confidence builders! young teams need to beat bad teams to prove to themselves that they can hang with the big boys and with the talent we have and improving confidence, that will eventually translate into beating better teams! they just have to believe they can and build cohesion between the lines! Our Defense is shutting down teams on 5 on 5 play, we just need to work on getting rid of the dumb penalties and scoring on the PP regularly! Confidence is key and those so called "wins" against bad teams like the avs actually mean more to them than you think!

Exactly. We marched into Colorado, shoved it into the face of the Avs and officials, and won that game in OT. It was a fantastic win.

Why are the Avs a bad team? On paper they should be scoring at will. We just beat them. It's that simple. Last night we were BETTER.
