First

i would agree that Versteeg makes the line up better, he looked really good in the preseason

Interesting. Sounds to me like Saad is in the doghouse a little bit. He hasn't looked that good to me (a bit slow and hesitant to shoot) though there are flashes there once in a while. Does Saad play right wing on the third line or does Bickel move to the fourth line?

If Saad and Richards click on the third line it was cause matchup problems for their opponents and give the Hawks 3 solid lines that can score. Hope it works.

Agreed . Saad needs to be shooting the puck everytime its on his forehand inside the blue line. He has looked hesitant . I hope he is not hurt

Bickell - Toews - Kane
Sharp - Richards - Hossa
Saad - Shaw - Versteeg
Carcillo - Krueger - Smith

Let the older gentlemen play together. And I liked the 4th a lot in the Nashville game.

Saad has to just get aggressive and shoot the puck on net when he has the opportunity to do so.... stop worrying about the pretty play to much.

It looks like Saad will play on the right side of that 3rd line. If anything, I'm hoping that Saad is able to jump-start that line.

Eli - do you know why Danault was scratched the last couple of games?

I do not. The Hogs are on the road in Ontario and New York, and won't be back until this weekend. I didn't see anything that says injury, but I wouldn't doubt that may be the case.

In short, I haven't heard anything yet.

I don't think the Hawks will send Morin to Rockford. He has a decent cap hit, for two years, and would have to clear waivers.

Morin will be ineffective as long as he keeps trying to pull AHL quality moves and stunts against NHL competition. He's not quick enough or talented enough. If he is to make an impact on the team, it will have to start with his grit.

He was much more confident and aggressive last regular season and before the concussion. Not so much right now for some reason unfortunately. He's never been great defensively. Right now he can't do anything offensively either. Maybe 4th line is the reason. Pre concussion time he played top 6 and last year played more attacking line with Bickell and Regin. Anyways there is no top 9 room for him now.

I might wager a beef sandwich on that, but if he doesn't so what. If Morin being claimed creates cap space then there's your return. And if that's all they got for Buff then oh well. That was then and now is now.

I think Q is just trying to jump start that third line by moving Saad down there. The general consensus seems to be that Saad should shoot more on net and think pass less.

Hopefully Versteeg is really ready to provide a spark.

Might like those pairings more then the ones I proposed yesterday. Since the cup in '13, has Q played Toews, Kane and (a healthy) Bickell together?

They were awful good in that run. Thing is, regular season Bickell doesn't play like he did during that cup run.

Plenty of time for plenty of combo's. Long season.

So you'd just give Morin away....for nada...

Put him on the list of young talent not given a chance, then lost for nothing.

Package him in a deal, lose some cap space and allow the guy to have a shot on another club. He deserves it...

...perhaps he'll be fortunate to face the Hawks and light 'em up. I'd be pulling for him to do just that.

Pretty much this. I don't believe that Morin would make it through waivers without a claim put on him.

If anything, I believe that Morin will be a component in a trade deadline deal, or will be around for depth this season.

Morin has a little upside with his heavy shot and physical play. However, I don't know if he's really a fit for Q's system. I guess we'll see as the season goes.
