Several of the turnovers yesterday came on calls that were reviewed, and were close either way. One of Minnesota's drives was sustained by a sideline "in-bounds" call that the refs didn't make until after nearly 30 seconds of conferring.

If any of those calls had gone the other way, the game wouldn't have been nearly as close.

EDIT:

Presume, going forward, that any of my posts compliments you on a good blog.

They played Friday and Saturday. Not Thursday.

Good read.

Agreed, and considering the referee might have the biggest ego of anybody in that league, it's no surprise that none of them were overturned, even considering the new centralized booth review in NYC.

NFL officiating is so bad it's not even worth discussing. The league is going to do whatever they want to do. It's not even worth debating.

There's also that...

Still, as I said last week, the standard of penalties on defensive backs is making the NFL unwatchable at times.

If we get Mcdavid, he will mean as much to Buffalo as Lebron does to Cleveland. Discuss.

So he's going to take his talents to the Panthers when he hits UFA status?

The sad part is, I thought the Refs were better this game than in all of the other ones.

That's not to say I agree with everything, but at least the crew yesterday seemed to have half an idea of what the hell was going on.-

mmmm...maybe...but the sabres have a much stronger group of prospects...Cleveland had nothing when LeBron was drafted...in fact, that group was pretty pathetic

I think I could use a refresher on whether a fumble can occur after the ball carrier's knee touches the ground.

My understanding, applied to the very slo mo replays, did not match the interpretation of the pros.

Both had centers with impossible to pronounce "Z" names.

Those were both close, and I have to say, I thought they got them right. The ball was loose in both cases prior to the knee coming down.

I hated it, because both of them hurt for sure, but I thought they were the right call.

Speaking of what may or may not have been the right call: Notre Dame.

I find it funny they called that one but not the one on ND's second TD. That one was worse I thought

don't agree with the call but can see why they threw the flag...all receiver needed to do was keep his arms at his sides and try to run against press coverage

In live motion I didn't see it. But I thought the replay was obvious. Neither of the other 2 receivers attempted to run a route. Cant do that.

I would agree except for the fact that that the DB went up and pressed him at the line first. Had he backed off originally, I would agree completely. However, last time I checked, simply overpowering a bump-and-run isn't illegal, no matter where your arms are (okay, so maybe not the face).

I was out and had trouble seeing the game because this super tall guy kept getting in my way. I also couldn't hear it. But, I was super pissed, so I didn't even bother watching anything that explained it yesterday morning. I figured it would just make me angry again.
