Good blog Colin.

That pass Russell made on the Wideman goal was a sweet play.

I kinda think that with a decent tandem in net one will end up beign trade bait.

What are your thoughts on Sven the Disgruntled? Might be a good idea for a blog.

Sven's actual comments dismissed everything over in the Swiss paper. I'm not actually worried about him. I just hope he finds his game down in Glenn Falls.

anyone else notice since the season started there have next to no oiler fans on this board...
After a long off season of constant bragging about how improved their team was and how much better their goaltending was
Now not only do the flames have better defense and goaltending, so far they have better offense too

I picked him up in my hockey pool and dropped boyle.

I had to autodraft because I was hungover and forgot about the draft. I need to utilize my three trades wisely. I am third of 11 right now.

Wow, when did you get let out of the penalty box? I was hoping you got a lifetime ban...

True comment, and I'm terrified to agree with you.

The return would be far less than the value of having strong goaltending ....they aren't going anywhere

Love the Brodie deal, but can someone shed some insight as to why more years weren't added to this deal (to 6 or 7). This kid looks like he's gonna keep improving. He'll be only 29 once this new deal expires. It would suck if we lose him as a ufa at that point if he still has potential to progress. I mean look at gio the last couple years Thanks guys

I think the Flames could be a dark horse this year. They've impressed me so far with their 4-3 record and beat the Jets 4-1 yesterday. Also heard about T.J. Brodie possibly signing a contract extension. We will see how they do against Tampa Bay tomorrow.

We have one of the best 1st line D pairings in the league and we pay peanuts for it. Just happy he is resigning right now.

It actually was Stajan who made the pass to Wideman, not Russell. Russell passed to Stajan and drove the net, and Stajan found Wideman in the high slot. Great play by all three of them, though to be honest I thought Stajan had blown it by not trying to hit Russell on the return feed.

Oilers are stuck in perpetual suck! Their rebuild was as much about an attempted culture change as anything. They dumped all the so called trouble makers like Souray and expected guys like Hall, fresh off their draft to come in and alter the attitude of the organization. That is where the failed the most. They still maintain a losing mentality and I'm not so sure that any # of vets that come in, from winning organizations or not! will be able to turn this around. I predict rebuild #2or 3 or whatever will begin in 2 seasons. We should be well on our way to cup contender by that point.

Well damn good play by Stajan then! To be honest I was thinking it was not Russell that made the pass, thanks for the correction.

They weren't Sven's comments, it was his agents and partially his parents. Sven diffused those comments shortly after.
