Thanks Bill, should be a good one. Flyers could really use some positive momentum to start off this difficult trip. Dallas has looked pretty darn good though.

On a different note, does anyone have a link to the Phantoms highlights from last night?

Got to be a full team effort for 60min in order to have any chance tonight.
Maybe a road trip is what they need. Team bonding and all that stuff.
Win the 5-5 game and put in full 60 ( I know easier said than done) and we should get our first victory!

Florida or Buffalo are just horrific,'I see they played a 1-0 thriller last night.
I think it is safe to say that we are better than any of these teams and one of them will have MacDavid locked up...well at least it looks like they are planning on it.

FWIW, One man's keys to a Flyers first win of the season:

1. Mason will need to bring his "A" game. With the current state of the Flyer's D, they simply will not win games against good teams unless they get top notch goaltending.

2. The forwards must work as hard defensively as they do in the offensive zone and keep the gap shorts.

3. Stay out of the penalty box. The last thing a team with a mediocre group of dmen needs is to be killing off a lot of penalties, especially when your top guy is playing his first game back from an injury

4. The big guns need to score. If Dallas can keep Giroux, Simmonds and Voracek off the scoreboard, they will win.

5. Get a good, hard forecheck going and pressure the Stars D. If the Stars have a weakness, it's that their D is not particularly physical and they are vulnerable to coughing up the puck under pressure.

GO FLYERS!!

Yup, and you can add Carolina and possibly the mess that is Edmonton to that list.

The Flyers are a mediocre team, not a horrible one.

Your #3 is key...stay out of penalty box! Simply will not have a chance if they are taking more than they are getting.
Also, it would be nice too see the B Schenn's, Umberger's and Read's contribute on the score sheet! Show up guys and support the big guns on this team!

Well, remember, new draft lottery odds this year. The 5th-10th worst teams have better odds to win the 1st pick, so at least we have that going for us.

So I back-read yesterday's chat thread. I actually think a trade with Edmonton makes sense, albeit if MacTavish gets a bit more realistic. They clearly need a gritty center, and we need more skill at forward. I'm ok trading either Schenn or Laughton in the right deal.

Here is a major trade that wouldn't happen, but I'd take a chance with:

Flyers: Perron, Klefbom, Draisaitl
Edmonton: B Schenn, Coburn, Laughton

Edmonton gets gritty down the middle and much-needed defense. It's also immediate help.

Flyers are taking a risk as Klefbom hasn't blossomed yet and Draisaitl is a talent, but unknown. But we'd get skilled for 1st line with Perron, a more skilled prospect for 2nd line center and a potential top-pairing guy with Klefbom. We'd also get cap relief. But...

in the short term, we'd have even bigger defensive problems. A deal that would make more sense in December than today.

I think Edm and Winnipeg are both great trading partners. Edmonton needs defense and some leadership.

So. Luke Schenn and Umberger to Edmonton. We get Perron

To Winnipeg a one for one
B Schenn for Bogosian !

Blair jones, chris vandevelde, p.e. bellmaire...we are hanging our hopes on career minor leaguers and unknowns...that is whats so disheartening..I'd rather be watching the young guys earning their stripes

Battle of the French tonight..Bellemare vs Roussel

I'm really liking what I see out of Bellemare so far this season. And Rinaldo better keep his head this time if Roussel tries to bait him.

Thank you, sounds like a barn burner. I guess no video highlights? Are they not available for AHL games?
