good blog.

hopefully we'll see lehner start, and PW play for cowen.

love turris' game. i don't think he'll ever be a PPG center, but 30g and 70pts, with excellent 200ft game is definitely possible for him.

i'm excited for this new top six, as i've been saying that's what i want to see practically since the spezza trade was made. it spreads the offense out, with both lines having dangerous goal scorers, great possession players, and both with the ability to also be shutdown lines if required.

Have a feeling this is gonna be a blow out.

Not sure that I would call the play of Turris a 'surprise'. I think he is playing just like he did last season and about how most thought he would. The guy is just a good solid hockey player.

Agreed, I love those line combos, they're balanced really well.

Stone looks good with KT, and Zibby and Ryan can help each other. Chiasson has earned top 6 with his play through two games.

The Legwand line is more of our 4th line IMO, it will probably draw about even minutes with the Smith line below.

Smith centering two speedy offensive rooks? Love it. I expect this line to torch the panthers.

Yeah but everyone will act surprised when he scores 75 points with the increased ice time and PP time, even though it is what his points per minute would have extrapolated to the last few years.

Gord, for example, would probably disagree with your assessment of him as a bonafide 1LC still.

Murray himself, for (frank)s sakes, said he expected Zibby to take over that role in the future. Good luck zibby, because cheesecake is there to stay.

Anyone else think they need to get Lehner going? I know Anderson is lights out vs his old team but I think this is the type of game that Lehner needs to start building the confidence to be their number 1.

im curious who wiercioch gets placed with, presuming he plays. patty w and ek would be interesting to watch, though i'd be surprised if mac went for that. guess we'll have to wait and see. glad he gets a chance to lace up tonight though.

Last year Turris had elite numbers in regard to GF per 60. He was outstanding in head to head play against top players. As the #1 center he sets the tone for the rest of the team in playing a 200' game.

It's more than just Gord.

I think he has the potential, but he hasn't put up the points to do it yet. I think he'll improve on his past numbers. To put him in the conversation right now, before he's actually reached those numbers is putting the cart ahead of the horse, IMO.

He's a great second line center at the moment.

I'll be more than happy to eat crow on this topic too.

i think he's been a first line c for a while now, but i get where the controversy and criticism comes from . im a bit biased though, turris is probably my favorite player on the team (him and ek). it will be interesting to see how the year unfolds.

in other news, acc. to numerous reports on twitter, lazar and hoffman are out, greening and condra in. philips lining up with ek, patty w with ceci (which i think will be an interesting pairing to watch. )
im not even going to comment on the lazar / hoffman benching.

Since Anderson played fine against Nashville and he's still out starter, AND he's good against his old team, I expect him to be in. I think Lehner gets something like every third start, until Anderson has a bad game.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Nice to see Jared Cowen actually getting punished for his bad play this season.. He needs a reality check in the press box.

I'd like to see the Sens Package Condra & Cowen or Condra & Weircotch for some help on Defence.

but to be fair, he wasnt terrible last game. my worry is that his mobility issues will be exasperated by the effects of playing 27 mins saturday night. heard he took a maintanence day yesterday, but Im betting he is gonna be slow(er than usual) out there tonight. hopefully im wrong.

excited about the weircioch ceci pairing. wonder how thats gonna be.

hoping ryan picks up his game and returns to form. guys gotta shoot the fracking puck
